If looking for a modern sleek piece of furniture this is it; providing all the features of an in home theatre for a fraction of the cost. Not to mention the Wal-Mart Associates ability to put this work of art together for free which helped my HUSBAND out a lot (whisper!!) THANK YOU WAL-MART. Overall design and appearance will give you more than its value.
Pros: Good sturdy plasma/lcd stand. Price was reasonable. No need to worry about it tipping over. Cons: None. Note: Be mindful of the max weight for the shelfs. It is 25lb for this model. If you have a highpower, multi-channel AV receiver, make sure you check its weight.
This stand is awesome! Looks-wise, i dont see any other stand out there that can compare to this. The glossy black looks great. And with a quality name like Bush, how can you go wrong?? I love the floating effect it gives to my tv, which is the main reason i bought this stand. My 42 inch flat screen fits perfect. Would highly recommend this!
Looks great in my living room, holds and stores alot of the other electronics that were all over the place. Very easy assembly/if you lose any screws don't worry they give you plenty more. The only thing that bothered me was the price and the metal bar that holds the tv, it doesnt seem that sturdy. But fortunately it's working great.
I purchased this TV base for a 97#, 50" plasma TV. This is a bit below the maximum specified by the stand, but really more than you should try to mount on it; the stand is bowing notably and drooping the TV at an angle (which was corrected via spacers, but it still looks like a hack when viewed from the side.) Also, the shelves are only rated at 25# each, which is pretty ridiculous, and the glass shelves are what holds the TV mounting post; if the shelves break the TV is going to topple forwards. That being said, the fit and finish is great, especially for the price of the product, and it's aesthetically very pleasing as the centerpiece of my living room. Assembly was straightforward, although close attention needs to be paid to the instructions which are a bit confusing in some points. The set I got was missing one spacer and one of the TV brackets did not fit correctly; the Bush customer support number was extremely helpful and sent me replacement parts without any hassle.
This unit handle my 47" Vizio LCD easily and I really like the wide glass shelves for all my components. The swivel feature is great for gaming with my PS3. The TV mount left the TV sitting at an angle, but the Bush people sent out replacement parts very quickly at no charge. Assembly was pretty easy but I wish the center post was a little taller. When the TV is mounted at the middle height setting the top of the post is visible. This looks a little odd to me. If I had to do it again I would probably buy this unit. It is very heavy, so you need 2 strong people to get it in the house and assembled.
Some noteworthy issues with this stand - the shelves are made of tempered glass explaining the 25 lb max limit for audio components on each shelf, had to make homemade wooden support beams to be safe that glass did not break. Will fit three audio components acrosss on each shlef so the 25 lb limit by Bush is ludicrous. Could have save about $150 by buying lower model sold in store that has metal cross beam for added support. Tempered glass means continued use of Windex to minimize dust and fingerprints. Oh, and here's the clincher...the entertainment center was already put together and last step attaches brackets to back of TV to hang on stand; brackets did not fit model year 2007 TV's, had to call Bush and have parts shipped to me delaying attaching TV to frame. Suggestion - do not pay $400 for this model and buy lower priced one displayed in stores that is medium wood color with metal crossbar supporting shelf and save about $150.
There are some problems with assembling this product. I had to request Bush furniture twice so far to send me proper pieces as they are not getting fixed properly especially the TV frame does not sit well on its stand well. Instructions to assemble the product r good but product is too expensive for the quality they provide. I would not certainly recommend this to anyone.
I once worked for a company that assembled many Bush products, I it for this reason that I did not hesitate to buy Bush, was I wrong! Overall the unit looks very nice, but it's construction is what bothers me. I am terrified to leave my new 50" hanging from this thing. The TV weight seems to bend the rear spine forward. The mounting bracket is very light duty flimsy aluminum with bad welds. As well, all three shelves are only rated to 25lbs? My receiver alone weighs that, what's the point in getting wider shelves?
The product is of poor quality. For a price of $400 it has little value. The drillings for the wooden dowels were over sized making for a loose fit. The metal accents located on the end of each wooden piece were loose and continuously fell of during assembly. While tightening one of the extended rod screws that hold the wood and glass assembly together spun out of the compression fit located in the rectangular steel piece (for $400 these should be welded not compression fit.) The glass weight limit is not realistic when considering the space available and consumer's want/need to use that amount of shelf space for audio and video equipment. Unfortunately for me, I do not have the time required to return the unit so I kept it and will replace it soon with a product that is of quality materials and construction. As a result of this issues, I am very disappointed with this purchase.
