This is a very solid [extremely heavy] console. Looks very nice and seems like quality. I've had it for a few months now and am very pleased. MAKE SURE to leave the top off before putting any equipment inside the console, this will save a major headache. Do not glue the top like it says to so you can take it off. The only problem are the small holes for cabling in the back of the unit... The back is a solid piece of board (about 3/4 thick). I used a circular saw and jigsaw to cut bigger access and for more venting. Fortunately this makes the unit very solid and seems like it will last unlike the units with a cardboard back. The only minor problem is that the glass rattles in the doors, easily solved by shimming the glass with a few sheets of paper. All in all I would recommend this product.
I'm not fully using it yet, but i did take 2 hours to put it together. It looks great, and was what I expected from a Bush product.... Some of the pieces were damaged somehow inside all of that packaging. Nothing that can't be concealed though. Wal-Mart Site to Store was a suprisingly great experience.
We really love the product but it was shipped damaged. We ordered the damaged pieces from Bush, it took a few days to get the replacment pieces. By the way they were shipped free of charge. When we recieved the replacement pieces they sent the two different colors(can you believe that). After it was all said and done we put the stand together but realized there was not a lot of room to work with. Putting all the components in cabinet it was a really tight fit, what I mean by that it that the wires entered from the back and the holes the wires go through are small. If we were smart we would have place the components in first b4 we place the top on, that would have save a lot of headaches. It was a heahache becuz u really couldnt c what you were doing. BUT LIKE I SAID we LOVE the finshed product. I would buy another Bush product
Pros: Beautiful dark cherry addition to living room. Bush sends needed parts quick! Price is right compared to other units. Unit looks great supporting Mitsubishi 73" DLP. Assembly photos don't have printed instructions but are easy to follow. Con: Leave the top off until components are installed. Drill additional holes in back plate and floor for needed component cooling airflow. They won't be seen from the front.
This TV stand is a perfect and beautiful addition to my family room decor. It is very solid and sturdy with a very nice mocha cherry finish. It supports and looks great with my 61" DLP TV. Site to Store was a bit slow and the hinges could be just a little better quality but all in all I couldn't be happier.
I purchased this product for our living room mainly because it exactly matched the color of our existing furniture. Assembly was quite tedious and complicated. It took my boyfriend and I all evening to assemble and even though we were following the instructions carefully, we still managed to put the back and dividers in upside down so instead of the drawer being on top, it would have been on the bottom. However, the drawer does not sit properly if inserted on the bottom so now we are without a drawer. Assembly requires you use glue so even if we wanted to disassemble it we could not. Despite it being a pain to assemble, I am pleased with the quality and the look. No one noticed that the drawer was missing and I have received many compliments on this piece and would recommend it.
Not a bad for a pre-fab, assemble at home piece of furniture. It seemed to go together easily and by myself took me about 2 hours. Not a superb value but not bad. Here's what I thought: Pros = Most of the product is made of real wood, only some HDF with veneer Nice color and design Good overall layout, having the small drawer is nice for storing remotes, glass doors are good for viewing components Cons = Side cabinets are just barely wide and deep enough to accomodate most components. A good receiver is a tight squeeze and makes it hard to get all the connectors in the back. Narrow compartments make it easy to dent and scratch the wood as you're sliding components in and out. Backboard has small holes for cable access - not large enough for a normal size hand to fit through. This makes for poor ventillation and difficulty connecting cables to your components (I had to slide the component out, connect cables, and slide back in.. and again, it's a TIGHT squeeze). Glass rattles inside the doors, I had to stuff some padding in them to keep them quiet when the floor bounced from walking by. A lot of the assembly called for wood pegs to be glued in place making assembly permanent once it was complete. I chose to only glue in one side and it seems to be stable, but I prefer furniture to go together with real hardware (at least camlocks and screws, not glued in wooden pegs). I bought this for the size, style and color, and wasn't disappointed too much. Even at $300 I would like better construction and a little more thought put into the design on the back end for practical access. Even with the cons, I'd still buy it again for this price.
This was the perfect addition to our living room after we purchased a 65" DLP television. This was really the the only way to go. It is a solid unit that I believe will certainly outlast the TV. I found this exact same TV base at other retailers for over twice the price. Assembly was about 2 hours. Instructions and hardware were easy to follow. There was one small piece that was cracked, but I decided to just put it back together with some wood glue since it was where it would never be seen anyway. I can certainly understand how shipping could damage some of the pieces, but it is actually packed pretty well for what it is. The mocha cherry is a nice complement to the black case of the TV.
I really like the unit, but mine came with at least a dozen chips. One of the pieces was even slightly split. I just assembled it anyway because the packaging was such a chore to unwrap that i wouldn't want to take it back.
This tv stand looks good and the wood is actually nice and heavy - HOWEVER, it cracks VERY easily. When we received the orginal shipment one of the front pieces of wood was cracked so we had to re-order that piece from the manufacturer (easy and fast). Unfortunately, the new piece also broke in the same place from only a slight hit. And then AGAIN, just from normal usage. We hid the cracks for the most part with some matching stain but only because this stand is too heavy to even think about lugging back to the store, especially after spending hours putting it together. Ugh.
