Yes, these are not rigid baskets, but they aren't meant to be. The picture shows them holding clothes, which would work fine. I've bought 8 of these and they look fine on shelves and stand up right on their own. Mine did not arrive crushed as some people have mentioned.
Great size, great price but a very flimsy product that I know will not hold up well. The only reason I kept them was that they were the exact size I needed for the spaces I had to fill.
The only thing supporting this basket is a wire rim on only the top portion. When I received this basket in the box from site to store, it was crumpled in the middle. Too bad because it was the perfect size for the space that I needed.
The baskets were not really black, more of a metallic color that didn't go with what I needed it to. They are only supported by the wire along the top and crinkle in the middle. I returned them at the store because I dont think that it was worth the $13... and wasn't what I expected. Good luck!
