So it was a bit heavier than I had thought and putting it together when the back board was a bit warped was difficult. Typically I put flat boxed furniture together by myself, but I had my boyfriend around this time...boy was I glad because I needed some good ol fashioned biceps to hold the back board on to the rest of the drawer. However, I am so pleased at how it looks and I plan to purchase the rest of the bedroom set. I mean, its WalMart, you are paying for what you get. The quality and overall look is fantastic, but it makes up for it when there's a bit of brawny labor involved.
If you're thinking of buying these, read the description very carefully so you are not disappointed. The drawers are all one unit with removable dividers inside. If you have nightstands, you'll have to move them in order to get into the drawers. That makes them not super useful for storage of often used item. The drawers are also fairly shallow because of the casters on the bottom. These drawers are very sturdy, easy to assemble, and look great. They were simple to put together. I ordered them with 'site to store' and they arrived within a week of ordering (a full week before their estimated arrival date).
My husband and I really love the concept of having the under bed storage and the product truly enhances the look of the Canopy Classic Bed. Our only complaint would be that while the storage is divided into 3 compartments, it is all one unit. You have to pull the entire storage unit out. This makes it a bit inconvenient if you have the end table but we just use it for things that we don't use daily and it works out fine.
Looks nice under the bed. Slightly difficult to assemble, pieces do not fit properly so adjustments have to be made. Not very functional due to not being able to pull out the drawer without moving the end table, but I was aware of this before purchasing. Mainly good for appearance.
I absolutely love the way that the drawers look, but would not have bought them, if I knew it was all one drawer and not on any kind of tracking. I have carpet in my bedroom and the wheels do not help. If you plan on having night stands you have to move them everytime you open the drawer. I was hoping for everyday use but there is just no way. I am very disappointed with them. -- But I do love my whole bedroom set.. extremely happy with every other item.. Wish I would have read the reviews on drawers before purchasing.
The underbed storage looks great - just like the bed - however the fact that you have to pull out all three drawers at one time really makes it storage for infrequently used items. Also - the drawers aren't as deep as they look - about 2 inches is taken up for the casters so thicker bedding doesn't fit in the drawers either.
It would have been nice if they split the drawer into two pieces. If you have nightstands you have to move them out in order to axcess the drawer. If they would have been two pieces they would have been easier to use for clothes. We put items that we only use once or twice a year. Other than that the quality is really nice for the price.
I bought two of these to go under our queen size canopy bed. We purchased the bedroom suit about 7 months ago. I was disappointed to find that the "brushed nickel" knobs were different that the ones on my dresser and nightstand. Also, one of them went together very fast and easy, but the other kept having problems. My husband ended up having to use wood glue in some parts to keep it together. We ended up putting the defective one on the side that we plan to rarely use, and it ended up working out okay.
Drawers look deep from the outside but are only 5 1/4" deep on the inside. The casters take a lot of the height from the inside of the drawer. Don't plan to store much in these. Also, we had to shim one end of the bed to make the drawer fit underneath; it didn't just slide right under, as you would expect. In addition, the instructions are not detailed enough. There are nice pictures (which don't exactly match the parts), showing how the parts go together, but the text needs to give a bit more detail. For example... If you buy these drawers, when installing the cams, they need to be screwed into the panels just to the point where you can no longer see the threads on them; go any further (or not far enough) and you'll have a very difficult time later on. I broke four of the fasteners because I had put the cams in too far (very, very easy to do without instructions telling you otherwise).
These storage slides look good, but lack much function. They are not very deep and they slide as one unit. Also the craftsmenship on these are very poor compared to the other items Canopy sells. The way it is held together is very poor once again, much like some of the cheap IKEA furniture.
