Bought this to hang in the living room to get rid of the big unused tower besides the surround sound and cable boxes. Works great, cables are closer to the tv that's over the mantel and more sleek looking. Great product and great price!
This shelf is very sturdy and made of tempered glass. It holds a good amount of weight too. I was able to put my Directv Genie Master box - large receiver, and my Blu-Ray DVD player on top of each other on this shelf. I love that it has a swivel arm as well. I will buy this same shelf again for my other rooms. This is the shelf to have if you want to position your receiver or DVD player in the direction you want.
This is the 3rd one of these shelfs I have purchased. They are large enough to fit my older Motorola cable boxes on. The shelves are easy to install and plenty strong enough to hold a couple boxes stacked on top of them if needed. They also swival which makes them nicer for corner mounting. You may prefer a smaller shelf if you have a smaller cable box or DVD/BLUERAY player.
As with other reviews, this is bigger than the picture makes it look but it matches the dimensions I was looking for. If your looking for a tiny accent shelf, this isn't it. It was easy to install and the instructions were good. One thing to consider if using this for A/V equipment is cable routing, whether behind the wall or some other management system. Since this shelf makes everything "out in the open" you see all the wires, although that is not the shelf's problem. I would recommend this item.

THE SHELF EASILY SUPPORTS MY HOME THEATER RECEIVER, CABLE BOX AND DVD PLAYER. MY ONLY "WISH" IS THAT THE COMPANY SOLD A CABLE TRACK MOLDING THAT MATCHED THEIR WALL COVER TO HIDE THE CABLES RUNNING FROM THE EQUIPMENT TO THE FLOOR.
I wasn't sure at first how big the shelf would be... but it's plenty big enough to hold the cable box, with some extra room for remotes. It was fairly easy to install. The black cover that goes over the wall portion is a little flimsy but as long as you don't touch it it's fine. I wish it had a swivle option. The only way to get the arm to pivot is to remove two screws.. which works fine and the shelf is still very secure with the two remaining screws.
I read the reviews and expected them to be bigger then they looked and they were. They look nice and you can hide a few wires under the plate. Expensive but worth the extra $$$.
The item worked well for us. The flat screen is placed above a fire place and we needed a place to put the cable box. The glass base helps hide the overall size of the shelf.
We ordered one of these several months ago but didn't install it until recently when we rearranged the bedroom. At that point my wife wanted a second one so we could have one on each side of the bed. Installation was straightforward although this one's mounting system was cheapened, as they reduced the mounting screws from 4 to 2 (the 2 are larger) with the bottom hole actually a slot to allow adjustment if your mounting holes weren't absolutely vertical. I added a washer here to improve the bottom screw's hold. The shelf itself is heavy duty glass and the mount allows it to pivot from side to side. It's a very reasonable price for the product and it is well-designed and attractive (almost invisible).
