For those who do not know, Devil May Cry is a gothic/metal style action video game series that is all about stylish combos, powerful weapons, unique guns, and Dante himself. For a high octane action series, you would expect the anime (based after Devil May Cry 1 and before Devil May Cry 4) would be similar in terms of stylish action, right? WRONG. Suprisingly, this anime has not the amount of action scenes you would expect, actually, this anime focuses more on the character Dante himself, rather than the action itself. For me and a few others, this is a great thing, now I get to really get to know what Dante (my personal favorite video game hero) is like, and the story and most of the episodes are actually quite interesting, for example, one episode has Dante playing a game of poker of death, and for how much he sucks at poker, the odds are against him, thats a great idea! This anime series is excellent, but its definitely not for everyone, for those of you who are looking for an action packed anime series, then look elsewhere, otherwise, for fans of the devil may cry series and people who want to dig deeper in Dante's character, then give it a shot!
