We just purchased this table for our 17 month old and he LOVES it! He played in the sand and water for over an hour today and he only stopped because it was time to start dinner. My husband and I are having fun with it, too! It is sturdy and a great size for our little guy. I might opt for something bigger for a child 4+ though. Just my opinion :) We bought extra sand toys from Walmart as well--the table only comes with a couple little things. My only complaint is water leaks from one of the legs. I read the same complaint in another review---she plugged it with some caulk which is what I will do when I think about it. Other than that, we LOVE LOVE it! Step 2 never disappoints!
We added a couple of bags of Crayola colored sand to this table and it makes a very nice play area. Lots of little play toys come with it, and it is very easy to set up and get started enjoying the sand/water combination areas. My 2 year old (and her 10 y.o. sister and her mother!) all enjoy this product very much.
My front yard turned into the nirghborhood hang out when i bought this for my son's third birthday. His older brother and sister have a blast playing with him with this. Make sure to get plenty of sand and expect wet and sandy kids, but laughing and smiling goes with this too.Easy to put together as long as you have a drill to drive the screws.
We spent quite a few wks deciding wether to buy a sandbox and exactly which one. I read all the reviews and finally decided to order this one. I used the sts shipping which was great. Set up couldnt be any easier and the kids (2,4) couldnt be any happier =) Great for toddlers, keeps them entertained for a long time. I also love the umbrella and the sandbox matches the step2 bistro we already have for them. Would def recommend this sandbox if your thinking about getting your lil one(s) one.
My 2 year old daughter got this for her birthday and plays with it everyday. She picked out some pink sand for it and loves it, spending hours entertaining herself everyday. It holds more sand than the manufacturer suggests and with a toddler you lose alot to spilling, etc. anyway. It would be great if it had a drain on the sand side. The bridges always fall off, so they need to be permanently attached. It's frustrating for her to put them back on all the time. But it's got a great umbrella, the lid is fantastic and I wouldn't buy one without it. Overall it's a great product, I highly recommend it and it was easy to put together.
In the last two years we have brought several of the Step 2 products, and we love them all. They were all easy to assemble, extremely durable (considering it is in the low 100"s durring the summer), look great, and easy to clean! We have the Naturally Playful climber, sandbox(as of now I use as a kiddie pool) and sand/water activity center outside. We also have the Lifestyles kitchen with matching table and chairs (which we bring outside on nice days for messy art projects or an ocassional pic nic). I also have purchased the majority of these products through walmart.com. They have the best prices and you can't beat the site to store shipping.
I think this table is something my little one will enjoy for a few years to come. It seems really sturdy! We put sand in both sides because at her age, all she wants to do is pour the sand in the water. The umbrella is a nice feature. My only complaint with this table were the lack of pre-drilled holes . . . other than that, it's a wonderful toy!
This was a birthday gift for my twins, they are 2. It was SOOOOO easy to put together and works great. The boys love to make a mess and this is perfect for them. The boats are cute but sink and the buckets or small pots are small, and only comes with one shovel. But you can get more supply's at the dollar store. Overall whatever makes the twins happy makes me happy too.
I read a lot of reviews before purchasing and this product met all my expectations. The kids love to go outside and play with the sand and water. We put 10 lbs. of sand in, you could even fit 15 if you wanted to, and it's really no big deal if sand gets in the water side, it all just adds to the fun. I didn't put water in at first when it was too cold outside, but they enjoyed it just as much. The umbrella doesn't have anything to hold it down, so if the wind picks up, make sure to remove it before it flies away. The lid does fit and stay in place, but can be removed by my 4 year old without any trouble. Great product, absolutely an amazing value for the price and the hours of play already logged!
I researched many different tables before i settled on this one. We love it! We have a 2 1/2 yr old and a 13 month old. They both enjoy this table. I love the top. I close it after they are done playing and it keeps all of the sand and toys dry and clean! Even our 16 week old lab can't get into the table and she manages to get into everything. The only issue I have is the water side leaks a bit. It is kind of annoying but a small irritation for how much joy my boys are getting out of thid toy. I would definetly recommed this table.
