I bought this toy for my 3 year old son. On Thanksgiving day my 12, 13, and 14 year old nephews came over to my house. They played with the Transformers Optimus Prime Voice Changer and later begged me to buy them one for Christmas. I must admit that I often find myself playing with it and my son has to ask for it back. This is a great toy! Your child will love it.
Not only is this product worth the price I paid, it is worth the many hours of fun it created. This included time a sister used it (and also wanted one for herself) plus Mom and Dad had fun with it too. We especially enjoyed calling friends and family over the phone using this product to disguise our voices. If any one watched Jim Cary in "Fun with Dick and Jane" they will have a good idea what this product can do. They might also try to imitate Jim Cary's antics. Now if only it came with a Hannah Montanna helmet for girls and a plain helmet for adults, it would be perfect, and guaranteed to sell. A five star toy, five star price, and it even came with batteries!
Before I decided to purchase this product,I have been comparing prices of this item from different places and WALMART has the best value. Oh,and on top of that,the site-to-store service was great.This product is actually meant for a Christmas 2007 gift for my 3 years old son but they were out but I keep trying and VOILA,I got it.It will be for his 4th birthday in May and I have received this product around early February 2008 and my husband and I have been secretly playing with it (and it's still in it's origianl box!) when our son went to bed. It is so much fun esspecially for Transformers lovers. Wonderful and amazing item!
This toy was great- the only bad part was the adults fighting for a turn on it. We have a couple of them now for both our boys and it's so fun. You feel a little bit of an altered ego while you are wearing it . There are a couple pieces that fell off of it that i'm not even sure what were for honestly but it's really a fun toy for kids and adults.
Purchased this for my 10 year old son. He loves it!! He likes all the phrases it says plus the voice changer it does when he speaks in it. Also only paid .99 for shipping...what a deal!!
My 6 year old son received this for Christmas today and has enjoyed it immensely. I didn't give it more stars because I have only had it one day. The straps inside are a little hard to adjust to fix his head, but he loves to just hold it on and talk as Optimus Prime. Make sure you adjust the microphone to put it closer to your child's mouth. The voice sounds better if the mike is closer. The directions were very clear and so far so good!
Although my nephew is younger than the advised age, (he's 3), I brought this product for him anyway and i'm glad I did. He is having a ton of fun with it and so are his mom and dad. They all rush to get the mask everytime the door bell rings. The voice changer works really well, and the recorded voices are great to. Small parts on the helmet fall off sometimes, but still a great product.
My daughter wanted one of these since Christmas. She was very excited to receive it for her birthday. Everything worked as expected and the voice changer is very cool. If I would change anything I would have the helmet fit better on a kid's head - not very comfortable. My daughter is 5 and is constantly adjusting it to feel better. Otherwise, good product.
This product is good for a few minutes of fun but the novelty wears off quickly and the confinement of the helmet results in short term play only. The helmet can be put on and off with the cover a long back section designed to cover the battery compartment in place but this section comes off too easily. As a result, it is left all over the house, somewhere separate from the main helmet. I think it is only worth it in the end if you child is a big big fan, willing to endure the helmet for extended play.
The idea and concept is great and my son loves it. The problem is that it is poorly made and it constantly snapping apart. I would rate it 5 starts if they would re-design this so that it doesn't fall apart so easily. Everything else about this product is great.
