This product is FANTASTIC!! The magnetic pieces are so well made and great for hands-on learning! I showed my 5 year old how to understand elapsed time with this resource and she totally got it! Teaching time can be such a difficult concept to master, but this resource has been so helpful!

We study time a lot in second grade. The Magnetic Elapsed Time Set works to build a complete understanding of elapsed time. The 14 piece set includes: 2 clock faces with removable guide numbers, 4 piece timeline with color-coded am and pm hours, 2 hour and 2 minute hands, start and end labels, and an activity guide. Because children are not exposed to analogue time as much, having these vibrant displays really helps to understand how to read the clock and determine the passing of time. I especially like having the colored timeline to use for calculating the elapsed time. This feature is easily understood by my second graders because we practice a lot with number time lines and counting. Therefore it is easy to transfer the concept to time. What a great addition to our math lesson!

My nine year old daughter needed something a little more hands-on to help her grasp the concept of elapsed time. Lucky for us, Learning Resources had just the answer! The Magnetic Elapsed Time Set comes complete with two magnetic clocks with hands, a 24-hour timeline (divided into 4 segments), and start and end time arrows. The clocks also feature a removable outside ring that has the minute guide numbers printed on it. I love the versatility of this set, because it really does grow with your child. As they become more confident in their own ability to measure elapsed time, you can start to remove the "helps". With the timeline approach, students can see that sometimes elapsed time begins in the AM and ends in the PM, or vice versa. You can also follow along hour to hour with the clocks, and the start and end time markers making keeping track so easy. My daughter has really come a long way since we started using the Magnetic Elapsed Time Set. She loves that it's colorful and even though she no longer uses the timeline portion it was essential when we first started. Now she just uses the large clock and the hands. She occasionally still uses the guide number ring, but we're working on not having to use that. I love to see her confident with this oftentimes difficult math concept! Geared toward ages 7-12, the Magnetic Elapsed Time Set is made from thick durable magnetic sheet and will last for years! *I received this product free of charge for the purpose of review.*

Great for Learning Lesson of Time Lapse!

Teaching a child to tell time on clock (with hands) can be one of the hardest skills for a child to master! I know my son gets really confused when I try to explain it to him because he can see the big numbers (1, 2, 3, etc) but they actually mean 5, 10, 15, etc. Telling Elapsed Time is EVEN HARDER and you definitely need some good resources to help teach that to any child! This Magnetic Elapsed Time Set is a great resource to use when teaching time lapse! I love that there are two clocks for easy visualization of time lapse and I love that they are magnetic so I can stick them wherever to practice all day long! I also really like that there is a 24-hour timeline so they can learn to tell time lapse and time throughout the whole day. The start and end time markers are also so great also for children to visualize the time lapse. The clocks measure 10" and are appropriate for Grades 2+. If you have been struggling teaching your child how to tell time or time lapse, then make sure you get this really great learning resource: the Magnetic Elapsed Time Set. It help eliminate the frustration of both your child and of you! Disclosure: I received this item for free for review. All opinions are 100% mine.

I used this product with my elapsed time unit and it really made a difference. It helped give the kids a visual that made this abstract concept more concrete. They also enjoyed having the hands-on practice, especially with the number/time line.
