You're not just buying the rocket-shaped circuit board, cards, and USB cable — you're also buying a digital coding curriculum. The creators of Code Rocket set kids up for success. The freedom to play with the code in real time is the real magic in Code Rocket.
My 6th grade daughter was super excited to try out Code Rocket. Don't let the small size fool you! Although it's small, there are so many intricate coding activities included. Code Rocket is a great introduction to coding for middle school students. I definitely recommend checking it out.
We bought this for our 8 year old who is very interested in coding. It is a great intro to coding, however my son did need help from an adult. This is one of his favorite projects to work on! An awesome idea that really teaches kids to code.
Great motivator for STEM thinking. The app was a little difficult to use. My 5th graders loved it! Challenged them to go beyond the drag and drop coding. Wish it could work with Scratch so my newbies to coding could experience success.
My 6th grade daughter Ella has done a lot of online coding and loved it, so Code Rocket seemed like the perfect hands-on activity for her. The Code Rocket is very easy to set up. It's just plug and go. She plays around to see what combinations and changes she can come up with. She's excited to keep going!
I bought this to teach my kids to code. Not only are they learning to code but I am too. They did a great job designing this and it makes learning easy and fun. I would give it 6 stars if I could.
This is a great tool for parents who have no coding experience, since Code Rocket does all the teaching! Parents don't have to be coding experts to get their child set up and learning right away. These lessons feel a whole lot more like playing than learning!
My kids are in middle school and they have done some stuff with coding at school. They get excited about the Mars rover and space-X, so I thought I'd try this out since it's pretty affordable for what they promise (a bunch of projects + learning code). Rocket has lived up to my expectations! Even though it doesn't fly or move, my kids are able to make the lights flash and make noises like a laser cannon from Star Wars. The best part is that I think they are actually learning something important that they can put to use if they choose that path.
I bought this code rocket for my 14 year old nephew who recently became really interested in coding after dabbling in it a little bit at school. He was really excited when he opened it and couldn't wait to use it. It was slightly smaller than I had expected (the cast itself was about the size of a deck of cards) but i actually how compact it is. Overall I'm happy with this purchase.
I used Code Rocket with my 13 year old for our homeschool STEM studies. Because the program is designed like real-world coding programs, it will make the transition to professional coding much easier. The problem solving aspect of Code Rocket allows kids to use iterative design. Kids find a problem, analyze the solution, fix it, and run their program to test it.
