Assembly was super easy since I took the advice from older reviews that encouraged the use of a power drill. Took me (a person that is not crafty or handy) an hour to assemble. Most of that hour was spent double checking my interpretation of the instructions and trying to put the decals on perfectly. There are basically only 3 big parts to put together, which is way better than having a ton of flat boards to organize and connect. It is a great size for my space and looks high quality. My 17 month old seems to love it. She's tall enough to enjoy everything that is lower than the top shelf and "Keurig" (which is plenty- stove, fridge, oven, storage bins, dog nook). I am glad that the overall height ensures that she wont outgrow this too quickly. Be sure to order play food and maybe some dinnerware if you truly want to keep your kiddo busy. SN: my 17 month old keeps trying to eat the fake food. *deep sigh*
We have three children under the age of three and were looking for an interactive yet simple play-station and the Step2 Coffee Time Kitchen has more than surpassed our expectations. All three kids lit up with excitement when they first saw the kitchen and have continued to play with enthusiasm and laughter ever since. While the recommended age is “2 and up”, we have 15 month old twins who have been infatuated with all the functionality of this kitchen set. They absolutely love the moving doors of the fridge and oven and really enjoy the lights and noises made by the stovetop. Our almost three year old has loved “serving” coffee to every family member who comes over to our house. The assembly of this item was extremely simple and the instructions were easy to follow. I was originally concerned about the durability of the product; however, the lightweight frame has actually proven extremely hardy. Even when all three kids are pulling and yanking on the kitchen in different directions, they have not been able to damage any of the moving parts of the kitchen. We have truly enjoyed watching our children’s imagination run wild with this Coffee Time Kitchen, and we look forward the continued enjoyment that it will provide our family. We love this kitchen! It was very easy to put together right out of the box (my 4 year old even helped!) I have a 2 and 4 year old and not a ton of things keep their attention very long but there are unique aspects of this kitchen that they really enjoy that has made it fun for hours and days! The first is the coffee maker. We have a Keurig that they see me use every day so for them having a similar chance to "make mommy coffee" is very exciting. There are three different pods to choose from so it's very fun for them to invent flavors to make for different members of our family. The second thing they really like is the realistic sounds the stove makes. This is ideal for two kids at play so that one can be busy with the coffee maker and the other with the stove or sink which brings me to an added bonus in addition- the little dog house built in to the bottom of the kitchen. We have a dog so it was also fun for my two kids to pretend with the dog house with their different stuffed animals. We have played with this kitchen every day since receiving it. It is very sturdy, good quality and has also been fun for other kids who have visited since it has new motor function activities because of the coffee aspect that they've never played with in any other play kitchen. I give this item a big thumbs up. The only negative feedback I would give is that since the kitchen is based on coffee it would be nice if the coffee maker made a sound or had lights or was a little bit more on the end of bells and whistles. It would also be nice if it came with a small dog to put in the little doggy cove. Everything else about it is fantastic! Everything about this coffee time kitchen set is really nice. My daughter loves it and plays with it everyday. She brings me a cup of coffee every morning lol...
I love this kitchen. I purchased it for my 2 yo. It took us about 30mins to assemble it. You will need a drill, as the holes are not predrilled. It is a little top heavy, so a small toddler may be able to tip it over. Overall I am very pleased with the purchase.
came very speedy - it's the great quality you expect from (step 2) my 2 year old Loves it so much - it did come missing all the stickers but a 5 minute call to the (step 2) company fixed everything in a snap got it all mailed to me for free and now it's a perfect set complete with everything needed great customer service 100% would recommend to anyone !
I've had this for three years now, and my kids STILL use it! It's still in great shape (holds up well to constant use) with only using it indoors. Since it uses stickers and batteries, I wouldn't recommend it being an outside toy unless you don't mind peeling stickers and electronics not working.
My son like it , easy to put together
This kitchen has provided many hours of fun for my girls! My oldest enjoys playing restaurant and makes me my favorite meal. She loves that when you place the pan on the burner that it lights up and has sound effects! My youngest loves the area for the dog. She makes her dog food and then puts him to sleep in his bed. It was very easy to assemble! My girls even helped me put it together! This is an amazing product and doesn’t disappoint! The product is great, our 1 1/2 year old son loves to play with it, especially the pot and skillet because they make different sounds on the stove (genius idea :0)). I gave it four stars because there were no prefabricated valves for the screws to slide into, which would have been nice because I had to use a significant amount of force to get them all screwed in securely. Nevertheless, they were not a whole lot of parts and extras to deal with so that was a win. Overall, it is a great product for all ages, we all enjoyed playing with it.
