My daughter is a little to young for this toy so right now she loves the music option. She likes to dance around when the music plays. However, I believe as she gets older, this will be a great learning tool. It says the ABCs, 123s (to 20), and teach the babies about animals (amongst other things). I would recommend this for any child.
I play with this toy in many stores before i bought it .I am on tight budget so the toy i wanted . had to be education and fun for i do lose interest If it kept me happy i knew my grand daughter would be happy. It did come in two different styles one with the controls on the front base with mouse on the side . I knew thats not like grandmas for her mouse is in the middle . The colors it comes in are good for they fit any child , I just like pink . The reason i pick walmart was this gift was going to maui hi and the price was the lows and shipping was about the same price as the post office. So if I ever get to go to maui again I won,t have to share my daughter laptop with this two year old, I will know I did help her with her education and it was fun. Just in case you would like to know i spent four months playing with toy in any store that carry it
the old version of these let you hook it to the computer to customize everything. this one does not. While it lets you input a name it does not say it, and it does not allow the old email customizing options. It is still a good toy but no where near as cool as they used to be.
I have a 2 year old set of twins. My son already had one so I purchased this one for my daughter and she absolutely LOVES it more than he does. She really likes hearing her name and the dancing to the music. Downloading everything was very easy, I was a little nervous about it initially because I'm not a comnputer EXPERT but if I can do it anyone can.......trust me it was that simple and easy.
We have 1 for home & 1 for Grandmas! Love this toy, portable and his favorite. He's not even 2, and is learning letters and sounds. I like it that we can personalize it for him. He loves his name song, and the emails. This has been a wonderful activity on long car trips too.
I bought this item for my great niece who is 4. She was very excited to have her very own computer. The educational value is excellent.
My 18 month old loves this. we had really wanted to buy him a laptop because he loves mommys. all other ones were more for younger babies. we had though it might be to advanced for him because it is 2+ but he loves to dance to the music and claps when ever it says his name or reads him an e-mail. He loves to close it up and carry it around to. he now wont even leave the house with it. and we love to know he wont grow out of it for a awhile.
I bought this toy with hopes of it being more educational than anything but it is more of a toy toy than a learning tool, if you know what I mean. It is very limited with the learning the alphabet and you have to press the email several times before you get to the personalized ones. I like that it says her name and she loves the music feature.
I was not very impressed with the My Own Leaptop. It just didn't seem to do much that would keep a child's interest. One function is that it shows a partial picture on the screen, and the child is supposed to guess what the picture is and type the letter that animal starts with. I couldn't even figure out some of the pictures by the little bit they showed for you to guess what the animal was. I thought one was a lizard, but it turns out the animal was a "newt!" How many kids know what a newt is? Most know what a lizard is. Anyhow, I did not feel this Leaptop would keep a child's interest. It just didn't do much that was exciting and had limited teaching ability. I got a refund on it.
I bought this for my 2yr old daughter who loves playing on the computer. She enjoys repeating the sounds and learning new things. The one thing I don't like about this is that the screen is not lit up very well and it's really hard to see the screen. Other than that it's a great product for beginner learners.
