My 2 1/2 year old daughter got this game for Christmas and absolutely loves it! She loves to take care of the puppy she "adopted" and I love that it tells her when she has completed a level so i can hook up the leapster and print her certificate! She loves it
I love to buy toys to my children who are 5 and 3. Educational more than other kinds, however, either kind it is always the same, play with it for a day or two and then, once in a blue moon. HOWEVER, with the leapster it was a whole different story, since the moment she got it x-mas morning she would not put it down, now 2 years later her favorite game is pet-pals, she can play it every day if I let her. She just started kindergarten and is learning to read insted of her letters, and whatever she knows about letters and their sounds is from leapster games, since English is my second language I felt she would need extra help with reading and writting, that is why I got the leapster and it worked. thanks leapfrog!
My 5-year-old daughter got this game a few weeks ago and hasn't stopped playing it! She's an animal lover, so this is her kind of game! Definitely recommend this game, especially for kids who love dogs! She still hasn't gotten bored with this one, and it's very educational.

I bought this for my 4yr old who just started playing Leapster. This is her second game and she loves it! It's a cute game for any child that loves animals.
Pet Pals is very much like the Nintendo DS Dogz game. My 4 1/2 year old daughter loves this and loves the fact it is like her big sister's game. It is not so much "in your face" learning like the olther leapster games and has more play value but with the amount of time my daughter plays this over her other Leapster games, I would say it is just as educational. I highly recommend it!!
great gift for the grandchildren
I have 4 year old twin granddaughters who both have a Leapster. When I purchased this game they were so excited and started playing it and didn't want to put it down. It teaches them capital letters, among other things they learn. They receive coins for jobs they do and can buy things from the store. It is a great game and the price is remarkable.
I particularly bought this one for my Grandson's 3rd Birthday. They recently lost their pet dog to Cancer and I saw this and the reviews were fantastic. This is a great game to teach responsibility to a child.
My son (4 years old) loves dressing the puppy and doing the educational tasks. It is good for basic number and letter recognition. The coordination required is HARD..he has to use the pen and push the buttons on the pen at the same time. This is hard to coordinate. My daughter (also 4 years old) gave up and just watches her brother because she can not move the pen and push the button on it at the same time. This game is really good for children who love dogs. They can dress the dog, wash it, go for walks, play frisbee, and learn tricks. The tricks use numer/letter writing skills and are hard, but the rest is pretty easy.
