This bike is a great value. I did quit a bit of research at the local bike shops and they couldn't touch the value. For $1200 - 1400, you'd be looking at Aluminum Frame with 105 components. If you were looking for a comperable bike in Trek or Giant, you'd be looking at over 2k. I was a little concerned about the 'some assembly required', but found that even a bike idiot could do it in about 15 minutes. The 'Italian mechanics' appear to have done an excellent job tuning it up. It truely was ready to ride!
This bike is a solid value. The components are all top notch. This bike jumps forward when you stand up to pedal. No flex in the frame or bars. I adjusted the handlebars and seat and it fits me like a glove. I am 6'-0" and bought the large frame size. I weigh about 190 pounds. I showed it to my neighbor, who is a die hard hundred mile rider and he couldn't keep his eyes off of it. He just made the switch to full carbon and was amazed it came from Walmart. Unfortunately it is not my everyday ride, but I don't think there is a lock strong enough to keep this bike from growing legs. Hope you like it as much as I do!
Must admit was a little unsure at first, but this is a great bike. Well built, great components and very fast. The compact frame is a very different ride, so correct fitting is critical, but can be done at any bike shop. Easy assembly too! Can't beat the price.
With little bit of assembly this is a good bike for the money. The handle bars hed some scratches past the tape area which made me think it was a return at first but it rides good. The seat has a problem holding it's position on the stem if hit small bumps but I have a couple ideas & confident it will be fixed soon. I think if Walmart Gave me a $150 credit for the two problem that the Overall Rating would be 5 stars.
Seat collar (clamp) broke when tightening it. It has a brass collar that will lose all its threading if you tighten it too much. A defect on the handlebar tape as it came broken. Tires are not the best but are okay. May not be as durable as other bikes. Pros: Very light. Sleek look and color scheme.
