This product is well constructed and extremely safe for both child and parent. The LATCH system securely installs the seat so that when parents are riding around in their cars without the child in the seat, the seat is not a projectile in case of a sudden stop or an accident. Also, the seat adjusts in both height and width so that it fits securely around your child. I would highly recommend it!!!
big, lite, and very durable
Good product overall. I purchased this booster after reading alot of great reviews about it. The only problem i've had with it so far is with the Latch system. For whatever reason, the latch straps are rather short, Making it impssible for me to use the latch connectors in the middle seat. ('06 Honda Pilot) Still works good without the latch connectors.
I bought this for my tall and leggy 5.5y/o. This booster seat is fabulous! It adjusts very tall and wide for bigger kids but still fits tall/thin kids well. Your able to latch this booster which prevents it from becoming a projectile when not in use. It is very sturdy, has great leg support, great protection from the tips of ears all the way down to the thighs! Please keep your child harnessed as long as possible before putting them into a booster.
This is a great car seat. It is lght weigth so it is easy to take in and out and it is the first car seat that I have seen that has an adjustable width. A great find and will keep children safe until they are 5'3" which is amazng!!
I am mostly writing this to inform people who might have been reading the reviews about this seat from the Busy Mom in Georgia. Some of the information is incorrect. The Britax Regent car seats CAN fit in many cars as long as there is a top tether spot. They cannot fit in 3 across situations, and in compact cars might not even be able to fit 2 across. My sister has 2 installed in her Ford Escort Sedan. In addition, there IS at least 1 booster seat on the market with a top tether. It is called the Britax Frontier. It has a versa tether system. This is a relatively new seat with a 5 point harness system and can be used as a booster after outgrowing the harness system. I appreciate in depth reviews and informed decisions and anyone who is out to find a safe seat for their child is on the right path looking into this booster (which can be used to 63" or 120 pounds)- but please always verify the information you find in these reviews and don't take one person's information as the bottom line. (In fact, research what is contained in my review for accuracy!)
I have purchased tons of car seats and boosters over the last 7 years. Of the boosters, this is my favorite. First and foremost, I'm very pleased with it's safety features. I'm a big fan of latched boosters. I think the materials inside and out are top notch. It's not quite as easy to snap in to the latch as the Jane Indy Plus we've got but it's a better, bigger, sturdier and easier to configure seat. It's held up to kid messes very well. I really like the head and shoulder wings. My son and I recently took a long car trip and it was very comfortable for him to nap in. I don't have the problem the other poster mentioned with the latch strap lengths, I seem to have plenty of room and find them easy to attach and unattach (I always recline the car's seat a little to get them tight). I'll buy more of these when my youngest is 5+ and ready for a booster. I prefer to keep my kids in a harnessed seat until at least 5. Can't say enough about this great booster!
This is the most secure booster seat I have found (and I literally have spent hours researching). My 5 year old is tall for his age and has outgrown every 5 point harness seat except for the Britax Regent, which won't fit in my car (an 08 Acura TL, but the only type of vehicle a Regent will fit is a full-size truck or large SUV). We had planned to use the booster part of the Alpha-Omega seat , but it wobbled from side to side and seemed flimsy. We tried 4 different booster seats to find one that fit securely and had adequate side impact body and head protection. The Monterey has ISO9000 straps that are basically the bottom 2 latch straps. The only thing that would make it more secure would be if it had a top tether, but there is no booster on the market with a top tether. I would definitely recommend this booster because I feel like it is the safest thing on the market for any child who has outgrown a 5 point harness car seat!
This booster seat is just what we were looking for. My daughter is around 40" and 40 lbs. and she is very comfortable in it. She loves that she can unbuckle herself and jump down. The seatbelt hits her body jujst right, too. Really no complaints.... except..... Setting it up is a pain, it is a nice secure, tight fit, but to hook it on to the seat's tethers was a bit frustrating. But I love that you don't have to take it off to adjust the back, recline, width, etc. Once it's in, it's in!
