Very nice guitar package. Comes with everything you need.
i got this for a kid. it's his first guitar and his father plays he said it was a nice set up for a beginner. worth the price you pay for it.
this guitar looks great i really want to get this for my birthday my brother wants the bass and my friend plays drums, his brother plays acoustic guitar, and their sister sings so we are going to make a band get ready for us garage
Bought this for my 9-year-old son for Christmas and he loves it! Amplifier works well, item was exactly as described.
I purchased this exact model for my son eight years ago online, and he still plays it from time to time, though he has since purchased other guitars. As far as a first guitar, this starter kit is by far better than many of the other guitar kits on the market. The guitar stays in tune as well as any guitar in this price range, though after a year my son did upgrade the tuners to grovers. The pickups are what is to be expected from a guitar in this price range, but if you take a sacrew driver and raise the height of the pickups a little, they will play sound louder. The only problem my son had with the guitar was the jack kept coming loose every couple of months, but he took it in to a guitar shop and they fixed the problem with a locking nut, for free. The tuner and cable that come with the kit are very cheap, and that is why one reviewer's amp crackled a lot. Purchase a good guitar cable for around $15 and a good tuner for around $20 and you will be set to rock for many months. The amp is one of the better one's that come with starter kits, but it does lack a live band on stage sound. To solve this, purchase a cheap distortion pedal for around $15 and it will really make this amp come alive. But if you do none of those things, this is still a great guirar to start out on (but you will have to get a new guitar cable, no way around it - the one that comes with the kit will begin crackling in a month or two.)
This guitar is rockin'! i just got it and i really love it. if anyone is looking for a great buy i would totally recomend this guitar to you.
I bought this for my daughter 10 year old 5'1" about 70 pounds. She is handling the is guitar well. I took it to the professional guitar shop where she takes her lessons and the teacher stated it works well for the children. He did have one issue which I have noticed as well is that it seem to go out of tune if left sitting for a period of time. It comes with tuner however and we just tune it before playing....overal great buy for price..
This was my first guitar and ive been playing for a while now so you could say im kind of a guitar expert. On the image of the guitar, the red has a wood like texture. The actual guitar is just a solid red. The color is also a little darker than it is in the picture. Overall, this is a beautiful guitar when it comes to looks. IM SAYING THIS ABOUT A 110 DOLLAR GUITAR! The price is very good. At a quality guitar store, like musiciansfriend.com, or guitarcenter.com, this guitar would probably sell for maybe $230-$280. However you will not find this guitar at a guitar store because of the name Silvertone. Silvertone is known nation wide as a major junker guitar. But this guitar shocked me. Ill start with the sound. The sound isnt excellent but its very very good. Im assuming that most of the people who will read this dont know a ton about guitars since you are looking at walmart. So I feel the need to explain this to you. Right underneath the place where you strum the guitar with your right hand there are 2 silver rectangles. These are called pickups because they pickup the sound from the strings and transfer it to the amplifier. You may have also looked at another silvertone guitar at this website. The silvertone revolver. Notice that the pickups on that guitar are totally different. Well, the pickups on this guitar are called humbuckers, and the pickups on the revolver are called single coil pickups. The humbuckers on this guitar create a waaaay better sound than coil pickups. When your playing clean(without the distortion on) the tone on this guitar isnt great. The tone is pretty good for classic blues if anything. When u turn on the distortion ......well, wow! If youre going to be playing anything rock or metal this sounds like a$350 SG(an SG is what type of guitar the rockit 21 is copying, although the actual SGs, which are manufactured by gibson and epiphone are made with better material). This guitar was made for any beginner who is going to be playing rock. I would also like to say something about the silvertone revolver(which mimics the Fender Statocaster). The only sound that thing will give you is an extremely stale country sound, that will make you want to return it. If you want a country kind of eletric guitar the only thing possible to get would be an actual fender. Anyway, the comfort of this guitar is very nice. You can reach all 22 of the frets with ease. That's all i got to say about that. The neck is EXTREMELY slow. Im sure most of you are wondering what that means. Well the speed of the neck depends on the wood and the metal used to seperate the frets, but 75 percent depends on how close the strings are to the frets. Well, the wood and metal are ok, but the strings are 20 miles away from the frets. If I'm going to say a con about this guitar its definitely this. When you play this guitar, and then compare it to an even remotely nice guitar you will see what i mean when i say that the speed of the neck is just awful. The guitar has broken on me 3 times. The interior isnt very well put together so it fell apart 3 times. Luckily, I have a relative who sautered it back on so it doesnt break anymore. If it breaks on you, I wouldnt even try calling the silvertone help center thing. They wont budge and I was very unimpressed because of there lack of trying to help at all. Earlier I said that this was a 110 dollar guitar. I said that because the amp can be sold for about 60. When u put the amp on clean its the worst sounding thing i think ive heard in my life. It's just plain terrible. I give the amp on clean mode 0 stars. All you have to do is turn on the distortion and this thing becomes a beast. When I play the song Iron Man it sounds exactly like the recorded version. And Im not in a studio. The one bad thing about the distortion is that you have to turn the distortion all the way up to ten or else it still sounds like junk. When the distortion is this high on the amp, it picks up everything. When you move you finger along the string there is a loud squeaking like sound. I dont like this very much at all. The amp gets 2.5 stars out of 5. Anyway I recomend this guitar package. Get it as a beginner guitar. If you like it get an Epiphone Les Paul Studio Deluxe, Epiphone Les paul Standard, or an Epiphone SG G-400. If you play any of these 3 guitars you will be amazed at how much faster the neck is and the incredible difference in sound. Buy it, and try it because of the great price!
The guitar came with cracks in the finish and one of the knobs had been broken on the inside and the peg the knob belongs on was bent slightly
I purchased this Silvertone Rockit 21 Electric Guitar Package for my son as a starter system. This unit was very difficult to use and would not stay in tune for very long (10 mins). The amp was full of static and noise. Vertually unplayable. I have already returned it.
