I am the mother of two toddlers and a newborn. With my first two children I decided to breastfeed for a year. Unfortunately I could not find an affordable and reliable electric double breast pump. The only ones ever mentioned were the Medela Breast Pumps that were completely out of my price range. Therefore I was stuck purchasing the First Years single electric breast pump. This product worked well, but it took longer to get the desired amount of milk production. Fortunately, with this pregnancy I found the First Years Electric Double Breast Pump. I figured I'd give it a chance since I liked the electric single breast pump. It was the best choice I could have ever made. It is easy to set up, clean, and use. I have had this product for two weeks now and am completely satisfied with my purchase. I get twice the amount of milk pumped in half the time. It is perfect for my needs. Though I only recently purchased and started using the product it has met and satisfied all my expectations. If there are any problems in the future I will gladly contact customer service for First Years to resolve any issues. The only negatives I can tell you about this product are what I believe to be insignificant or unimportant. Firstly, it is larger/bulkier than I thought it would be, but I can live with that flaw. Secondly, the suction is so good that it can be a bit too powerful. That really isn't a negative; however, since you can adjust the amount of suction for each individual breast. (Just be mindful of this when first trying out the product.) Otherwise, this electric double breast pump is perfect - price wise and in its usage. I would definitely recommend this to all my friends.

This product served me well for 11 months when my son was born and I used it quite often for my hungry infant because I went back to work full time and had to pump every other hour. If you use your brain and don't expect the machine to position your breast for you and use the right level of pumping intensity, it works awesome. The only complaint I have is that it is rather noisy but I can deal with that over paying what some of the other pumps cost!

The storage containers you pump into leak when you unscrew them from the pump. Also the pump is quite loud. I do like the pump though, it is quite efficient and I like the option of the soft cups and the hard when pumping.

I used an older model of this product for my 1st child. I went back to work when he was 6 weeks old and was able to continue breastfeeding until he was 11 months. I thought it was a great value for the money. I tried to use it again for my second child but it only lasted a couple of months. They don't make replacement parts for this pump so that is a downside also.

Waste of $$

This product has been a waste from the get go. One bottle's suction has never worked so I have to do one side at a time. The side that does work leaks when it is tipped too far causing me to lose milk on my pants. No way I can use the bottles. I wish I hadn't spent my money on this and just rented one from the hospital!

I am a first time mother and have decided to breastfeed exclusively and am working full time; therefore, will be using a pump daily! I started with a Medela (used from a friend) and absolutely loved it and had no complaints about pumping. However, my Medela went out on me (motor/suction) 4 days ago and I had to have one at that minute, so I went out to our local Wal Mart since we have nothing else that is less than an hour away and purchsed this pump. I used it for the first time and thought my breasts were never going to feel the same again. I am not sure if it is the rubber sheilds, as opposed to the hard plastic of the Medela or what, but it has been the worst experience for me. The sound of the machine is just as horrible - loud and obnoxious! I would not recommend spending your money on this machine - I would just go that extra bit to get a Medela if you choose to breastfeed for more than a short time period.

I purchased this pump when my first son was born. Within four months the motor started going out. I called the company and after arguing about whos fault it was they finally agreed to do a one time replacement. I got a new motor in about a week and a half (anyone who pumps knows how convenient this is). I continued using it for my second baby and about three months in it started doing the same thing. Frankly this pump is garbage I sucked it up and spent the money for a second hand Medela. It is probably the best money I ever spent. The set up is super easy, the bag is cute and doesn't look like a pump, it's easy to clean and easy to use. I can pump the same amount of milk in about a third of the time. The built in cooler is great! I work fulltime and pump one-two times a day while at work. I have absolutely no complaints about the Medela. The first years pump is a waste of money!!!!

I received this pump origionally as a hand me down from my sister. I loved it and was able to get plenty of milk. After about a month the suction levels dropped and it sounded horrible. I figured this was because it was used before me so since i loved how it worked i spent the money to buy the same pump again. It worked for a month and the motor completely burned out. I would be cautious buying any items from this brand again because of the poor quality of such an expensive pump.

I used a Medela Pump In Style for months (borrowed from a friend) and then I had to give back because my friend's sister needed it and I went to Walmart and bought the First Years Double Breast Pump. I cannot tell you enough about how dissapointed I was. The suction is horrible and it was very difficult to handle. While I tried to work with it my milk supply started to decrease because I wasn't getting enough suction. A few days later I stopped producing milk. NOT what I had planed.

If you are serious about supplying baby with breastmilk, especially if returning to full-time job, just pay the money for the Medela Pump in Style. The Medela is the 3rd pump I have bought & I wish I would have just originally bought that pump. The First Years pump, worked great for the first 2 weeks I had it, then the suction dropped way down & it was taking me 30 minutes to pump 3 oz from both sides. With the Medela PIS I can pump a total of 8 oz in 10 - 15 minutes. Well worth the money spent on it.
