Yes it makes fur and right now it will cool your cat by removing fur and it does fly off. Cats seem to enjoy being combed too. Sick with this size for cats and order at least one replacement comb when ordering comb and handle assembly.
I had the 'other brand' without the replaceable blades and when the blades became dull, $20+ dollars went into the trash. These replacement blades are reasonably priced, come in different widths, and are easy to change.
