I have Otter box cases on in several different colors on my phones but never had one for my Kindle before because I didn't really use it as a constant companion. With the new HDX 8.9 it has become my go to take along and I needed extra protection because it is so thin and light I was afraid that I would drop it. The best part of the case is the built in stand in the cover. I love it. It is always there and I don't have to take along anything else. So far I haven't dropped it but I feel that it is very well protected the way that the case is made. I would like it better if I knew that it was completely water proof but I won't go swimming with it, but you never know. I think it would be OK for a accidental spill of coffee or such if wiped up quickly. I want colors! All the other cases come in colors! Get busy and come up with great colors for the new stuff.
My family and I have Otter box protection on all our phones and my wife's new Kindle Fire HDX 8.9. We feel it is an outstanding product , and will always be customers. The only complaint that we have is , we think all products are overpriced and could be sold at a cheaper rate.
Makes handling my kindle so much more comfortable. Easier to handle and the multi-position stand/protective cover is a stroke of genius!!! Love it-
I already owned an Otterbox for my phone so I knew this would be a good product. I'm clumsy and tend to drop things so I needed something rugged. The Kindle Otterbox is perfect for me. The screen is wide and clear and all the buttons and outlets are easy to reach. I scarcely notice it. It doesn't appreciably add weight to the Kindle and gives me a secure handhold on the device.
I love my Otterbox. The only problem I had is that I bought a Kindle Fire HD without realizing it and the HDX case was too small. I did end up getting an HD case and just love it. It does tend to be a little heavy but as long as it keeps me from worrying about breaking it that it fine! I won't every buy another brand of case for my Kindle.
If you're looking for a case to PROTECT your new Kindle, this is the only case to buy. I've had multiple readers/tablets with every style of cases and this is the only case that has the protection I was always looking for. The three piece design makes it easy to put on your HDX. The case front snaps into the back shell and then the removable front cover snaps on and off for extra protection. I always wear latex gloves when putting electronics into cases to avoid fingerprints. Take some time and have patience when 'installing' your case.
Very happy with this case. It provides very good protection all the way around while still providing access to all the controls. I also consider the screen protection important and would not even use the Kindle until it was installed into the Otterbox. I highly recommend an Otterbox for Kindle and also have them for all our cell phones and iPods.
This case provides the optimum of protection for my Kindle 8.9 HDX. I had first purchased a case when I bought my Kindle and I accidentally dropped it after having it for two months, tearing the plastic face of the Otter Box. The Kindle was undamaged so I sent an email to Otter Box requesting to purchase the plastic face but they sent me a whole new replacement case. I am glad I purchased an Otter Box rather than a cheaper case because the product does protect my Kindle when I drop it. THANK YOU Otter Box for a great product and great customer service.
I do a lot of camping. My otterbox keeps my Kindle safe and sound. I also like that the company stands behind their product with a fantastic warranty. When I broke a snap off they did not hesitate to send me a replacement.
i have the otterbox for my kindlefire 8.9 however I have not been able to use it because I cant get the otterbox to open so I can put my kindle in it....they didn't provide any directions and when I looked it up on utube they said they had the same problem and had to get a butter knife to pry it open. It should be easier than this at the price I had to pay for it.
