I love that this keyboard is magnetic and is so easy to put on and take off and that it protects the surface when not in use.
Works perfectly
Sometimes the original is better than the sequel. I had a Type Cover, it died, then looking for a replacement, I could only find the Type Cover 2. It's good, but not as good as the original. I feel I have more control on the track pad and the keys have more travel so they work better. One note though...the item I bought from WM didn't work, so I had to return it. But as always, WM is awesome about returns so this was a totally hassle free transaction.

I purchased two of the Microsoft Type Covers for two Microsoft Surface RTs, expecting to be able to just snap on the cover/keyboard and go. I was able to eventually get the mousepad to function, but the keys never responded. For background, I am technically savvy, with over 12 years experience in the consumer electronics technical intelligence field. I followed every solution instruction on Microsoft's website to a 'T'. Nothing worked. Keys were still unresponsive after each procedure. I have spent 10X the time I expected to get these type covers operational and am now extremely soured on a product I had planned to use as a laptop substitute.
