We ordered this to keep our daughter out of the pantry/kitchen area from the living room. She's 3.5 and was able to figure out how to open it fairly quickly...but it looks good and we are teaching her that she is not to go through the door when it's closed. It will serve its purpose for the time being.
I bought this after seeing something similar at a friends house. We installed it on a carpeted step above the landing floor to where it opens toward you to keep our puppies off of the carpeted loft. It is very stylish and looks great...I am very happy
I bought the gate to keep my 8 month old daughter out of our wide enterance dining room. I am very pleased how nice it looks with my formal dining set. The gate is easy to use one handed so you can open it easily while having baby in the other hand. It was easy to put together as my husband and 5 year old son had some bonding time assembling it. The one minor drawback was we had to remove the quarter round from our wood floors so we could mount the gate flat to the floor. We first tried mounting it above it, but then found when you opened the gate, you had to step up over the bottom rail. Overall, we're very pleased with the gate and would recommend it to others.
The gate was easy to install and looks great too. I looked everywhere to find one large enough to fit my doorway. This one works great. We have 2 dogs... a lab and a doberman. The gate keeps them both secured in room with no problems. We love it! I would definately recommend getting one if you have small children or dogs.
This gate is used to keep my puppy Khloe safe.......It was installed between my kitchen and dinning room, It keeps her safe from someone opening the front door and her running out. SHE is very active..It works great...I also have one at the pre-school I work at, that's were I first saw it. It is a great value well worth it.........Barbara
This gate is very versatile. It has several parts that can be added/deleted to make the gate the right width. It wasn't difficult to figure out and installed in just under an hour with a cordless drill-driver and a standard flat blade screwdriver. I could have installed it much faster but it was in a dark area and I didn't want to make mistakes. It is what it says!
We bought this gate to close a gap between the playroom and the living room to keep our 9 month old baby safe and to be still easy to pass from one to the other. The gate worked good but we had some issues, nothing big. The lock wasn't working how it was suppose to and my husband had to fix it. It was kind of complicated to set up, but once everything is set it's Very easy to take it off or keep it on.
We needed a baby gate for the 6 ft doorway between our kitchen and living room due to our newly mobile baby! I did a lot of research and realized very quickly that gates of that size were a lot of $$. I was pleased when I found this one on Walmart.com because of the price and because it has a door. (Who wants to constantly walk over a gate holding a baby?!?) My husband installed it fairly quickly (less than 10 minutes) and it fits the space perfectly. I only have 2 issues: 1. It's not as sturdy as I would like. It has some push-back to it and I don't want it to move at all. My husband says that's an unrealistic expectation since it's stretched out to 6 ft. Plus, it is bolted to the door frame so I know it's not actually going to fall down. 2. Because it's stretched to maximum capacity, there is a space between 2 of the bars that I feel is too wide. My cats can easily walk through this section. I have some concerns that if my daughter ever tries to follow one of the cats her head would get stuck. The space is easily wide enough for her to squeeze her head through. Overall, it's a great product and serves the purpose for which it's intended.
I may not have read the description very well but I was under the impression it was a less permanent adjustment that affixed it to the wall. However, if this doesn't bother you or you're looking for something more permanent, then I would recommend this.
This gate was broken when I received it. There is a plastic piece that holds the extension on and it was snapped off. I don't think the gate would have been very secure with a flimsy plastic piece. I would never put this gate at the top/bottom of my stairs. Also, the gate says its 44 inches wide, but it did not fit in my 45 inch hallway. Once all the brackets and hardware is on the gate I would say the minimum width would be about 47 inches. The gate was very nice looking though, it was a nice color/design. I returned the gate and opted for something else, I didn't feel as if the plastic piece was very sturdy.
