Bought the Trimmer about a month ago and I am very satisfied. I look forward to using my Edger and make the lawn look nice.
Super handy to have. Light weight and small. Good on small jobs and heavy jobs. The line is easy to replace and I have never had to go in and reset it in the middle of weed wacking. Black & Decker stands behind their products. I have had a good experience with warranty replacements in the past and my neighbor has been using Black&Decker for a longer time and more frequent and said they were good about honoring their warranties.
Love this trimmer!! Far exceeded expectations especially for the price. It outperformed my old gas trimmer. Also like the black and decker edger as well.
I'm on my second one! No, I didn't expect it to last forever and I'm not disappointed at all. This trimmer produced more work for me than the average trimmer ever sees, due to my unusual application. When the first one quit, I took it apart to see why, it was worn out. I wore it out, period. I went to buy another one just like it and couldn't find one so I bought the next model with the top motor and curved shaft. Soooo disappointed with that one that I immediately kept looking and found the one that I'm talking about here, the straight shaft, corded, 14”, telescopic handle, with guide wheel and flip it 180 degrees for trimmer function. Please don't ever stop making this one. I even thought of buying two more now, so I can have spares as I I wear them out.
I bought this Trimmer last month and I keep falling in love with it. It is really simple to use and doesn't take long to do my front and back yard. The only problem is the line is not that long but other than that my yard looks great.
I bought this trimmer to replace a two string unit that frequently jammed when feeding line. The B&D trimmer is more powerful and has a larger cutting swath. My favorite feature is the edging guide wheel. I get precise, even edges more easily than with my old trimmer/edger.
Needed a good Trimmer, liked the features this one had. I didn't do my homework and now paying for it. This auto feed over feeds and wastes line. First I though it was due to the woven fence which is catchs the line and pulls it. So the second time I used it, I started on everything other than the woven fence. Still went through three spools of line, in my small yard. You'll waste more time Rewinding spools of line than it would take to trim your yard....not happy Might any one have a fix for this model? Can't afford buying another trimmer right now, though I might be buy it through the cost of trimmer line!
Bought it to trim the edge of my RV lot, 90 ft of tender Spring grass...no weeds. The very small cheap plastic piece that feeds the line snapped off at about 65 ft into the very first time I used it. Now I get to go through all the hassle of trying to get it fixed or replaced. After decades of buying Black and Decker products, they have finally cheapened the Brand to the point where I am done buying anything from them.
Purchased last summer. The spools come undone quickly and get caught up after it is out. Took all 3 spools to get a small residential yard, plus it would have string hit me in the face. I would never recommend any of their products and destroyed mine when I put it in the trash just so someone else would use it and have the same problem.
I originally bought this B&D string trimmer in August, 2016 at HD. The unit lasted 12 months until August 2017 when the motor burned out. HD replaced the trimmer under warranty. Now, the replacement unit is dead. The upper motor bearing failed. This unit managed to live 13 months, but since the warranty period is from the original purchase, I'm out of luck. Even a middle-of-the-road quality bearing should have lasted longer than this. And since B&D doesn't sell replacement bearings (or motor assemblies for that matter) I can either try to size and locate a new bearing, or replace the trimmer altogether. Poor quality unit.
