Being on a budget is rough but leave it to Wal~Mart to take care of that. I couldn't afford one of the expensive barbeques so I "settled" for this one. I was very impressed by how well this barbeque handled compared to other larger and much more expensive ones I have used. It provides excellent heat and the heating grate gives excellent flames for a great steak. This is a great barbeque for the money and if you aren't feeding an army, I definitely recommend this one.
It took me a little longer to get the project started because I had forgotten how to put wing nuts on in a tight place, but after I remembered that in that case, you hold the wing nut and screw the bolt or screw, the rest went along perfectly (and on one leg was the only place that it was necessary). The instructions on how to put it together were very simple (and I am a 68-year-old woman alone). And, after it was put together, it was great to use. I was going to purchase a regular barbecue (with briquets) at first, but I really do like to gas barbecues and when I read that they are better for the environment, that sold me.
When I first saw this grill in the store I was skeptical. However, since owning one, I am very pleased. I ordered it online, brought it home and had it together in four hours. It works great! Like others have said, it does not have any extras, but it cooks great! You cannot put the ceramic briquettes in this unit either. Another expense gone! And the food tastes just as good as the other gas grill I use to own that cost me over $350! I still want to see how longer the burner will last.
Maybe I'm just a little overly ecstatic because this is my first grill and it was a very generous gift from dear friends...Still, this is a great grill . I looked at some larger ones and thought, "I don't want to deal with replacing parts that break." This is perfect for me. I have used it several times since the 4th. Love it!
I paid $99 for this Gas Grill. You can't beat the price for this type of Grill. I have been using it for 1 week now and I think it works great! I am very satisfied. The only draw back is that it took me 4 hours to put it together. Everything else if fine, I would this product for those who are on a tight budget.
After comparing different grills online, I choose this one. It came very quickly after ordering, with only regular delivery (not express). I had it delivered to my home, so then I had to put it together by myself. It took awhile to assemble, but wasn't overly complicated (prob. next time, would have it delivered to the store where they assemble it for free). This is a great grill! It fires up right away, and the heat levels are good because you definitely have a very high heat, or a very low heat. It looks nice, and the shelves on both sides are good sized. It has a grease "catcher" underneath the burners, which is just a round metal cup that hangs from a hook. I'm not completely sold on that yet, but it is nice to be able to remove it a wash it, then put it back. Also, the grill doesn't require that you add any lava rocks or bricks, which is nice, because it's a lot easier to clean up after cooking. Overall, we are very pleased with this product, and would definitely recommend it to others.
I purchased this grill last weekend and have had the opportunity to use it twice. I am not sure yet how much I like it. I do like how the food cooks and tastes. The only thing I am having difficulty with and am in doubt about is the fact that the handle gets extremely hot when the lid is closed. I contacted CharBroil in regards to this and they stated to me that the grill can get hot enough to melt the knobs. Now if they know this you would think they would put together a product that does not do this. I have never owned a grill that I needed to use an oven mitt to open the lid. I will try it a few more times before I make my mind up on whether on not to send it back.
I have just a few expectations for a grill, even heating, decent durability, and ease of use. This grill seems to have these attributes, it will remain to be seen how the grill ages and if the burners will hold out. I think they will. This grill doesn't have lots of extras, but in my experience, most of the fancy bells and whistles on expensive grills are useless. I am happy with my purchase
I needed a grill that was easy to use. This product filled the bill. I was able to put the grill together in one evening and use it the next day.
The one I bought came with badly bent grill/cooking surface. Char-Broil customer service was quick to send a replacement which came severely bent across the middle (not shipping damage). The next one was flat but still the coating started flaking off after a few uses. The grease cup developed a leak and the igniter died after 2 weeks. Overall, Char-Broil's quality is very low and they are very casual about it. You should expect dings and dents with sloppy touch-up paint out of the box. Spend the extra money and buy a better brand. I only bought this one because it was a good size for me. I am already looking for a replacement.
