I love the fact that this is rated for up to 30 lbs. That is what sold me on this model. The material is nice, too. The faux velvet doesn't look cheap at all and I like that it's machine washable. It's also easy to put in and take out of the base. I just wish it was a little cheaper.

I had originally bought the Graco snug ride and my son outgrew it by 7 months. So I upgraded to the safe seat in the roast color. It was slightly heavier but worth my child's safety. It has one of the best bases I have ever used. Reclines more than others and has a extra tightener for the seat belt. I wish I would have bought this from the beginning. GREAT FOR LARGER BABIES! Up to 30lbs.

After reading some mixed reviews I decided to go ahead and invest in this carseat. Our other kids were 10 lbs at birth and easily outgrew their infant carseats by 4-5 mos... they couldn't even sit up on their own at that point which made trips to the store or dinner at a restaurant difficult since they had to be held. I LOVE the colors on this seat, we didn't know what we were having and it's very gender neutral. It's SO easy to install the base, it easily fits in our mini van. The straps are easy to adjust to get a good fit for your baby. It's easy to get into and out of the base. Sure it's a little bigger than other infant seats (and a little heavier) BUT so is moving a convertible carseat when your baby outgrows the infant seat. This will easily last the first year and I honestly could not be happier with the purchase. Plus with the price on walmart.com and free site to store you really cannot beat the price, we could not find it locally so had to order online.

My husband & I bought the carseat w/ matching stroller and were very excited about how easy it was to use. We are new parents expecting our new little bundle any day now & this set works out great considering we did not find out the gender. Really looking forward to using this product, because so far, so good.

This is a great carseat. I love the fabric and the pattern. It locks easily into the base and the matching stroller. It is also great because it goes to 30 pounds! This is my first child so I wasn't for sure on what kind of carseat to choose, but this Graco seat is wonderful!!!!

I just had twins girls and didn't know how these would work in my two door car, but they fit in perfectly, I didn't have to mess with the base to get it level as it already was and it is easier to get them in and out than I thought it would be. So far I really like them!

Great Carseat

The carseat is great. It's easy to adjust strap length and getting my newborn in has been fairly easy. He falls asleep almost as soon as he's in it. Easy to take in and out of car. Installing it was simple compared to some carseats and I love the level on the seat that lets you know if it's in at the proper angle. Would definately recommend. Oh, and the patterns really cute. The only downside is that's it's a little heavy and bulky, but what car seat isn't?

We are using this car seat for our preemie who just got out of the NICU. Before he was discharged, the nurses ran a test with our son in the car seat for an hour. He passed with flying colors, and the nurses raved about how nice the car seat was and that its features and ease of use made it a real winner. A few of them said it was the best car seat they had worked with. We highly recommend it! We also bought the matching stroller.

We love this carseat. It's easy to use and our son seems to like it. However, don't get this carseat if you drive a Subaru Outback. Either pick a different carseat or get a new car. This carseat is too big for the back seat of an outback, making it a pain to get in and out. The center seatbelt system for an outback doesn't really work for this carseat and putting the seat on either side leaves no room for the driver or passenger. Other than that we haven't found anything we don't like about this carseat. At least it gives us a reason to shop for a new car.

Too Big!

We bought this car seat hoping that we'd be able to have our new baby rear facing for longer than the travel systems with smaller car seats. It's been 6 years since I've had my last baby, and I loved my travel system, but always thought they should have bigger car seats. I was excited when I found the SafeSeat step 1. I had read only a couple reviews concerned with fitting it in the car, so I ordered it and thought I'd give it a try. Well, with 2 older kids with booster seats and a minivan with middle bucket seats, I had very little choice where to put the baby's car seat -- behind one of the front seats, preferably the driver's seat (where I usually sit). I had a very hard time fitting it in there, and my husband, who is tall and has long legs, would never fit in front of this seat. We had no choice but to return it. We bought a travel system with the same size car seat as the first 2 kids had. I was bummed! Our van is very roomy, so I have to conclude that this car seat MUST sit in the middle of a bench seat.
