Foyle's War is still a fantastic piece of work! This one picks up after the war and tackles the problems of the cold war. Superbly acted and beautifully authentic! Kitchens is at his laconic, ascerbic best.
My husband and I have been big fans of Foyle's War. Acting and stories are excellent. Briiliant and historically accurate. We want very much for the series to continue.
The question the author proposes, if there is no War can Foyle survive? And the answer is without question Yes and be even better. My hats off to everybody and can only hope there is a season 8.
I like the fact that they did indeed make another Foyle's War series, and the subsequent follow on is spot on as far as content, but I must admit, the writing is somewhat not as good as the series preceeding this series.... still good, but I thought it might have been a tad better!
The Foyle's War series is one of our favorites. This DVD is great with the information from the Imperial War Museum and from the various set designers, costume designers, etc. It is amazing the work that goes into this series to transport you in time.
I heard that Acorn paid for production of Set 7 of Foyle. After watching Set 7 on WETA, I bought the disks to reward and encourage Acorn to produce more. Fingers crossed. Haven't watched the disks yet.
We truly enjoyed the Sets 7 and 8 especially in Blue Ray. We will miss the continuing presence of Michael Kitchen, Honeysuckle Weeks, Anthony Howell, Ellie Haddington. The feeling of confinement due to the PHE, was relieved by the adventure and mystery in areas of England that we had visited.
The complexity of the times makes the story line very plausible and interesting. Also the main character/actor makes the series one of the best in many years.
The previous episodes of Foyle's War have been one of my favorite shows and I watch them over and over again. Set 7 doesn't disappoint, love Michael Kitchen. Hopefully there will be set 8 and so on.
I enjoyed the series as shown on PBS, and even bought the first 6 seasons. I was excited about Season 7, saw the ad with Acorn, and was especially attracted by the sale price.
