This screen solved our summer mosquito problems. The tension rod is strong. It fit perfectly in our 80" wide French door opening. Now we don't have to get a custom made screen door. The screen is such fine mesh you can't hardly see it so it doesn't ruin the view. The magnets to close it are strong but we can still go through it easily. Can't say enough good things. I am so pleasantly surprised.
The ABSOLUTE best investment! It turned out just like the photos shown. Seamless and not bunched or saggy like you see on other cheaper products. I originally hesitated about the cost but decided to try it anyway because the pictures looked great AND it appears this was a manufacturer that took pride in their product. I was not disappointed. We have enjoyed our evening breeze's so far with no pesky fly's or mosquito's bothering us. The material is great and appears that it will last for many years.
Well worth the extra cost, sturdy screen, simple installation instructions.
The item arrived quickly. Is better built (sturdier than expected), and has some adjustability to fit the size of my doors. The only thing I don't like is that the magnetic closures are 2"x2" squares spaced far enough apart to allow the seam to pucker open at times. Additionally, there is a gap at the bottom so it will never keep 100% of the bugs out. Still, on the "get it" or "forget it" scale it is defiantly a "get it".
Install very easily works for what I need .
I just put up the screen but I'm not sure if I like it. First off there are only 2 magnets. One a little less than half way up and one on the bottom. I thought like most of the others I saw that it would have a few more. When I walk out the middle one catches but the bottom one... not so well. I do like that it's a tension rod so you can take it down with ease... but still not sure if I'm sold on it. Bugs can easily get in when the wind blows and I found a few leaves on my floor.... This does fit my french doors and the opening is right in the middle of the one I wanted to keep open.
As advertised it was very easy setup, no tools. The top tension rod can be pushed in and spring back holding tight in your door opening. The screen top has a sleeve to slip in the rod. However, any sort of breeze separates the magnet holders, easily on the bottom magnets. The magnets are not strong, though use of them is not a good design--I cannot imagine these pad magnets has any holding strength. The velcro that comes with it around the screen holds well. The instructions though should tell you not to peel out the velcro "sticky pads" until one has determined the screen fitting in your door opening first. I bought the double french door wide opening and it is not a perfect fit, but a little bigger.
It is a tiny bit cheap, the seems do not meet too well. The screen is fair enough in quality and it meets the need for a screen w/o the clumsy sliding door. Just not sure it is a fair price... it might be a bit costly for what you actually get.
The quality of the materials seems very good. The installation- no problem. But I live in Texas, and there is always from a breeze to a good wind blowing. The material catches the wind much like a sail and puffs out. This causes a large opening at the bottom, allowing all the insects to fly in. Good idea but not effective.
Bought an original Bug Off screen years ago lasted a few years was made better. Purchased a cheap off brand one this spring made lousy and tore already so I went back to Bug Off. Looks like the cheap one now with Bug Off labels went down in quality
