Luckily we were able to see and sit in this set in a store before we bought it. In person it looks just like the pictures on the internet. Modern, great colors and very comfortable. So far it seems sturdy, the seat straps are metal, which I assume is stronger than vinyl. I was able to get it out of the box and put it together by myself, not too difficult or time consuming. (Hint, the ottoman cushions and back cushions look a lot alike, check the velcro straps on the back to tell the difference). I bought covers at Wal-Mart when I bought the set and I am going to return them. The first time it sprinkled they didn't seem to repel the water at all. They don't say they are waterproof on the packaging or on the internet. I assume if the set is always covered with quality waterproof covers when not in use it will last much longer and then you don't have to worry about the cushions getting wet. I bought different covers elsewhere. The table glass is very nice looking, but I was nervous about having a glass top in my pool area with small kids. I checked with my local discount granite store and he said they have a lot of scrap pieces that would fit the size of the table top. It would just be sitting on top of the table frame, but the legs are steel and the top frame is aluminum so it should be able to hold the weight and not move around. (Note I am planning on doing this-have not done it yet) This set was on sale at my local store for $488, so add $100 for a custom granite top coffee table, the set looks a lot more expensive than what it was. I bought the matching outdoor rug for $50, which also looks great so far! I am including a photo without the table, I have not put that together yet.
As others have mentioned, I found many aluminum sets for $1,299 - $1,800. Searching the Walmart website, I found this one at a store not too far from our home. The (usual) friendly staff loaded the box contents into my mini-van. We put the set together on our deck, and had no issues. My only concern was "actual" weather proofing. I hope the mildew-proof, fade resistent/water repellaent lives up to expectations. No documentation in box to support those statements.
We purchased this set on line site to store and work really good. Once we went to pick up the set the personnel at the store helped us to put it in the car and everything. We absolutely love it and are extremely happy to had make such a great decision. is the best price quality ratio. i will recommended it to everybody. thank you walmart.
This is a great set for the money. The only issue I had that infuriated me was that they put the sticker which has a picture of the whole set right on the glass table. It took me forever to get it off and at the moment I regretted ever buying this. I mean really, how stupid are people that they still do that?Now that it is off though I do love the set.
We bought this set after shopping around for comparable sets at large home stores. We could not touch one like this at other stores for under $1,000 a set. This set is just beautiful. It is very sturdy, the cushions are overstuffed and very comfortable, and it is very modern looking. You can tell that this is very well made, too. The pieces are heavy enough that this set is not going to blow away in windy conditions, and the cushions Velcro to the frame. Wal-Mart has another set here online for about $250, which is a good value, but it is not nearly as heavy duty and the cushions are about a third of the thickness when compared to this one. The only issue I had was that the instructions were not as good as they could have been, but I figured it out pretty easily. WORD OF ADVICE: When assembling this set, do it outside. I put together the first chair and could barely get it through my back door to put it on the patio. After that, I put the rest of it together outside. Another piece of advice: When you are putting the "arms" on the chairs and sofa, screw in the two "long" screws first, then do the two short ones. If you do this the other way around, you won't be able to get the holes for the "long" screws to line up. It took me a few tries to figure this out. I thought for a minute that I had a defective set, but I didn't. This is where instructions could have been helpful. Also, if you do not have a truck, getting this home might be an issue. We have an average sized SUV, with the back seat pushed into the "downward" position, and the box was too tall. Thanks to the helpful Wal-Mart associates, we were able to open the box and load all the components one by one to get it home. Overall, this was a great value. I highly recommend it:)
We were looking for a deep seating set for our deck as we spend as much time as possible watching birds. duck. geese. and the wonderful lake that we overlook. We shopped outdoor furniture stores and were very close to spending nearly $4000 for 2 chairs and 2 ottomons because you get what you pay for! Right? Well, I couldn't justify that yet so looked around at alternatives, found nothing in any of the Big Box stores until I got online and discovered this set from Walmart, of all places. I read all the reviews and decided to give it a try. I can't tell you what a wonderful experience from beginning to the the end. I used Ship to store and it got to the store earlier then expected. We drove over to pick it up the day it came in and the store personnel was extremely helpful in putting it in our car. We did take both cars because I figured our Jeep Liberty would be too small. I'm glad we did because the cushions were so thick they wouldn't have fit so we put those in my Camery. My husband managed to put the set together the next day while I was at work. He wanted to surprise me - he has lots of health issues so it took him a little time but without help he did a great job with no difficulty. What a delight. This has more then met our expectations. I could buy this set many times over for the $4000 I almost spent. I immediatly bought covers as I want to take care of this set. I don't know, long term, how the cushions will hold up but they look awfully sturdy and are exceptionally comfortable for the money. I highly recommend you buy this product. Thank you Walmart!!!!
I have been looking for a conversation set all summer and had saw this one at Wal Mart many times, well yesterday I decided to o buy it. To my surprise and delight it was marked down to $250 !!! I couldnt believe it, there was no doubt I bought it. I also got 2 sets of the matching stacking tables, they were originally $188 a set but were reduced to $25 dollars!! I got over 1,000 dollars worth of furniture for $300 dollars...so excited, LOVE this set.
The patio set came right away just in time for Fathers Day. looks very nice thanks.
We ordered this product after doing extensive research and it was exactly what we were looking for. We have a rooftop deck and it fits perfectly, is a great color, and is very comfortable. It goes together very easily and is relatively lightweight. We had no problems with it being out of level and I was able to put it together myself within about an hour. We purchased the accompanying outdoor rug and 3-table set and it's perfect.
After reading all 48 reviews about this conversational set, I was convinced it was perfect!! I even did a little bit of homework and checked the 2 largest DIY Home Improvement stores, a specialty patio shop, and are local "red bulls eye" whom will remained unmentioned. All of the places I checked were 2 and 3 times the amount for a set as beautiful. I was sold... thanks to all of these amazingly positive reviews, and my hunt to prove them wrong. My husband and I have just finished putting the set together... yes it only took an hour (or so). Although, we did take a break to re-read some of the tips that were provided in earlier reviews. The reason for my need for reassurance was because both chairs and the love seat are off balance. You know that horrible table you sit at when you go to a bar or eatery... the one with the match book under one leg..?? My husband tells me :hunny, we just need to bend it so it will be even" Ridiculous!!! I will say that the set is beautiful. The cushions are amazingly comfortable and my patio has never looked so gorgeous! (I bought the rug in the picture too) When we completed the table assembly, I was VERY disappointed that there was a large sticker right on the glass. And NO, it wasnt one of those clingy stickers, it was one with residue! It took a good 20 mins and sharp razor blade to remove it. All in all, I am on the fence. I suppose you get what you pay for. I love the set... and wont be returning it. (not after all I have committed to it) I just wanted you all to know what you are getting into. I hope that this review is taken seriously and not disregarded among all of the incredibly glowing reviews. Im not trying to be negative... just honest. I am sure we will love the set for years to come... its the very first set we've ever purchased... and we are just happy to have a porch and a couch to use it with. Happy shopping!
