Rush oleum tint was a Good Buy, did exactly what I wanted it to do...
This turns out great if used properly. Shake the can vigorously for a few minutes before you start and shake again every minute so you don't shoot all solids and end up with all black like one reviewer did. Prep your surface properly with wax and grease remover and a tack cloth, and start with a light, almost dry first coat so that the second heavier coat has something to which it can adhere; this will ensure your coats don't run like another reviewer had happen. It's not rocket science folks...just read the instructions. My only complaint was that the sheen is satin and not gloss; that said, all of the products I've seen like this are flat or satin. An easy fix is to spray clearcoat over it. I did it and it came out great. I don't know what the implications are on guarantees or future removal, but mine came out great, is holding up well, and I have no plans to go back to the original finish. That said, if it didn't peel you could always just sand, buff, and polish back down to the original lens. P.S. For my truck I did one light coat, two medium/heavy coats, and two coats of clear (light, then heavy)
This stuff works great if you follow the instructions carefully. What topped it off and really made this stuff worth while is the clear coat finish after using the tint spray , because that's what keeps it from chipping and it makes a Mich smoother surface afterwards. I only used 1 coat on my tail lights and it came out just right!
One should know how to spray paint from a can for several years before using this product . It is not hard BUT maintain an even stroke one side to the other . AND maintain a consistent distance from lens . Do light thin coats . Fear not ... try no more than two light coats . Go driving at night and see if you have enough light to drive . TWO light coats were enough for my liking . Remember you can always do more ... [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
If works pretty good. Was actually surprised how good it looked. Only did a set of fog lamps, but they turned out alright. Couple small bubbles in it at application, but overall a good outcome.
works ok, it should of had a fan spray head instead of the round one. made it over lap and got runs.
honestly, I have been spray painting since I was a teenager and I'm 57 years old. it's very difficult to paint with this paint because it's almost like water. it runs very easily. don't waste your time with this.
Runs and is a pain in the as* to take off. Took 8 hours to remove and messed up my tail lights. Do not buy
I put this stuff on my headlights, thinking it would be nicer. However, the stuff dips and runs. It does not spray even. There were many holes "blotches" that looked like a disaster. It could not be covered up with another layer. Layer after layer it got worse. After trying many things to remove this stuff: sanding, gasoline. I went and bought a can of carbonated cleaner. Careful not to get it on my car, I removed it all. However, my front headlights are terribly scratched. I think I deserve a free full restoration because this product; I scratched my headlights, wasted my valuable time and money. I am going a professional to have done as well as the my windows. Tinting is not for me. By the way, I do not think a professional would used this. It does not seem like it good for anything.
Don't spary it on qith out takinh your lights out and laying them flat. Else its vwry messy and runs terrible.
