First time refinishing furniture

I got this because I didn't want to have to prime my table before spray painting it. Like the other reviewers, it was also my first time using spray paint for a home project. I read the back first and made sure to keep shaking the can between sweeps. I used short bursts and did many thin layers as opposed to thick layers and I had no problem with dripping. My only gripe is that I needed more paint after spraying the drawer, but the price beats having to buy two separate products, and it sure is a time saver.

I restore old tin toys and this paint goes on real smooth with no orange peal or runs. Wish more colors were available.

My first time spray painting

This was the first spray paint that I tried-my project was a kitchen table and 4 chairs. The paint comes with a nifty white plug (well I thought it was a plug at first) right where the paint comes out, that is actually a device to control whether the paint sprays in a horizontal or lateral line (or any angle in between). I thought this was most helpful since the can sprays best when held upright. The coats covered evenly and since this particular paint was both paint and primer, it saved me from having to purchase two seperate items. One can of spray paint covered a little more than one chair. My only complaint is that I wish one can would be able to go farther. A word of caution-this is not a high gloss paint. I only painted the table and chairs a week ago so I have yet to see how it will hold up to everyday use.

Does not bond to expanded PVC sheets

I am unhappy with Krylon Dual Superbond. I sprayed it onto clean white expanded PVC material. It went on very nicely and evenly. Looked great. But... the dried paint scratches off the surface very easily. "Superbond" it is not. I am using the 8818 Gloss Smoke Gray. Now I have to scratch off all the paint and start over. About 4 sq feet of it. I would gladly have used the Fusion in Pewter Gray but that is not available in the five stores that I checked in Orlando. The Fusion black is available here and I used that for another application, also on expanded PVC. That paint bonded very nicely but it took four or five coats to get a good black. In a separate complaint, I find that the Search box on your krylon.com web page is useless: it always returns a "not found" result. Even when I type in a search phrase copied from a page that I am looking at. It will not find "Fusion", "Fusion for Plastic", "Dual", "Dual Superbond", etc. Useless. Sad. Very Sad. (To quote someone)

i am spray painting my black furniture. one can painted one end table. the only issue i have is that it drips a lot. i had paint all over my finger. this was my first time spray painting so im not sure if its the can or if its me. i will be trying a different brand of paint and primer in one spray paint and we shall see how that goes.

Just kept getting worse - Bad bad bad

I tried to use both the Gloss Black and Gloss Clear on a project which has a plastic substrate, I am an experienced painter and followed the directions as I always do. The color coats did not come out well at all the first time, so I figured it was my error, so I sanded down after 2 days and tried again with the same result. Where the paint did flow out it was dull and not very glossy, and in other patches the finish was rough as if it was a dry spray, but it had definitely gone on wet. So, I decided to color wet sand and add the clear to hopefully salvage the finish. After another 2 days and getting the color coat sanded reasonably smooth for a gloss coat I used the Dual Gloss Clear. Immediately, using light coats as directed, the finish wrinkled as if the solvents are not compatible. The project is nearly ruined at this point so my next task is to strip the finish completely and try a different product. I will NOT be buying any Krylon products in the future, an afternoon paint job has turned into a week long nightmare... hopefully it will be over soon once I switch products.

Disappointing Results

The paint covered well in one coat, but in the few questionable areas where I immediately applied a small additional shot to insure coverage the satin finish has noticeably more gloss after drying overnight. This gives the project, a previously painted wooden door, a very patchy, uneven appearance. Now a "simple" project has become complicated because a full 2nd coat will require buying more paint and may not correct the problem.
