My husband has used this saw and he says that it does what he wants it to do. He thinks the oiler is not performing as well as it should. But overall very pleased and satisfied with the saw for the price.
Been waiting since November 24, 2012 for this item. It's been delayed. I have a 16 inch Remington now, and have had it for over 8 years. The saw is great, no problems until I lent it to my son who used it on brush and punctured to oil resivor.
The chain saw was everything professed it would do. The shipping and pickup information informative. Product was a bargain after much shopping. Wal-mart is the best.
I bought this saw for my husband. So far he is very pleased with it. He has been using it on a big tree in our yard and it has worked very well. I would recommend this saw.
I purchased this chainsaw while clearing our rental property. It works GREAT! Threw away my cordless chainsaw.
This is the first chainsaw I've owned. My neighbor had a Pouplan? (green casing) and it only cut so well, and leaked out almost all the oil when stored in my garage. I got this Remington and it work just perfect at first. Then after some use it became really dull, and I learned to pump the oil button during use, and it would work like a hot knife through butter. But it was an all or nothing affair. Eithor it worked great (with constant button pushing), or the chain was CONSTANTLY getting loose, and one time fell off. I would have to continuesly tighten the side screws. I later learned the 2 side screws did DIFFERENT things, and after PROPER adjustment, I never had another loose chain problem. I've cut down one 20 foot tree 10 inches in diameter, and pruned a really tall tree. Now the chainsaw is slow cutting no matter how many times I push the button. Granted, a quarter inch piece of uncut wood in the middle kept a trimmed piece from falling apart, so I know this is a hard wood tree, very strong. Overall, this chainsaw has worked very well. The see-thru oil reservoir is a bonus, and I don't mind the electric cord connection. I climbed 15 feet up a tree, and out onto limbs without any problem. -- Just know that there are 3 screws on this machine, and each one is for a different purpose.
had this saw a couple weeks works better than expected!
Chain constantly comes off. Chain adjustment gear is made with plastic and will not last. Do not recommend this product.
I bought this saw about 5 years ago and used it only occasionally. It was fine for small limbs, up to 4 inches, but beyond that, I would recommend a gas saw. After sitting idle for a couple of years, it was to be used yesterday. It would not run at all. I thought that is was something as simple as the switch, or a loose terminal, but after disassembling the unit, I found that the motor's brushes were shot, and the leads to those brushes were quite burnt. It is now in pieces in my trash, and recycling bins (metal parts). I will likely replace this with a gas powered saw.
Returned the product, it would not oil the chain. The product service telephone number informed me that they do not work on this chain saw.
