Good Deal

My 435 arrived quickly. I had no problem removing the foam spacers and installing the bar (if you don't know how to do this, and you expect to operate a chainsaw, now is the time to learn). Once the primer bulb was pumped enough to have gas in it, it is easy to start, just follow the instructions! Set choke, Pump primer bulb 6 times, pull 4 times (or less if it coughs), choke off then pull until it starts, which for mine is one more pull. Let warm up a bit before using. Mine looked new, the bar and chain had no use on them, there was a small scratch on the clutch cover and a sharpie number written on the front. I pulled the spark plug and the piston had no carbon on it. This is a new strato-charged saw, meaning the muffler is not a restricted cat type and the power is all at the highest RPM's. The saw balances nicely at the handle, and it is light weight for its 2.2HP, so it is easy to carry around the property and get it to the worksite. It cuts well but bogs if you push on it at all. I'm only on the second tank but it seems to be breaking in and making more power already. I purchased some 3/16" files, sharpened the hooks and just touched the rakers with a flat file, and now it really rocks. If you need to cut 16" or more constantly, this is not a good choice of saw, you need something 50-60cc, but if you only do it occasionaly (storm cleanup) or do a lot of pruning and limbing, this is a really good deal. There is an 18" version, I wouldn't bother, unless you just need to extend your reach because you can't reach down easily. I recommended this saw to a coworker, and he is also very pleased with it.

After reading some of the neg reviews from customers,i was leary about ordering this saw,but i decided to take a chance and buy one anyway. It arrived in only 2 days and I was expecting the worse when I opened it,but to my amazment this thing was I beleive brand new,no oil or gas ever in it and chain was factory sealed and brand new.I put oil and gas and started it in 3 pulls and proceeded to cut a few logs to try it out. There were chuncks not saw dust when I was done.I am absolutly glad i decided to order from them as this is a perfect saw.I would reccomend anyone to go for it and buy one.I actually bought a bigger saw also from another source, only because they didnt have any commercial models avail,I sure hope it arrives just like this one did..So So Happy thankyou

Excellent Chain saw for the price!

This is my first chainsaw purchase, and I went with Husqvarna after borrowing my fathers 435 and my friends 455. I decided on the 435 because the price was hard to beat and it was a comfortable saw to use. The saw came as expected in a factory reconditioned box, with new looking bar, sharpened chain, tool and owners manual. Saw did have a very small mark/writing (1/4") in sharpie and there are very minor signs of use... nothing that wouldn't be there after using it once or twice. Overall it is a great saw at a great price. Excellent service from vminnovations.com. I had such great expierence purchasing Husqvarna factory reconditioned from vminnovations.com that I purchased a Husqvarna back pack blower and weed wacker.

Good Basic Saw

Ordered saw to cut firewood and clear small trees on land. For basic jobs is all you will ever need. Saw comes with good reputation on quality and ease of use. Is covered under 90 day warranty. Had question on a problem when saw arrived and was responded to promptly from the company. Problem solved. Have not put it under heavy load but works fine for smaller limbs and general use.

Outstanding buy!

I have owned just about every brand of chainsaw made. In my honest opinion for less than $350, this is the best I own. My $600+ stihl being my favorite "large bar" saw. This Husqvarna has plenty of power, is lightweight, and is perfect for limbing and cutting down small to medium sized trees. I have ran about 8 tanks of gas through it so far without any issues. When it is cold it is a slight bit "tempermental" about cranking unless you get the choke set "just-so". It idles great once it has had a couple of minutes to warm up. I read several reviews stating that the chain the saw comes with is dull. Knowing this in advance, I simply sharpened the chain before first use. Not really a big deal for anyone that has more than beginner's experience with saws. Takes 5-10 minutes to make sure the saw cuts smooth and doesn't burn the bar up. I wonder if some of the negative comments on this saw "lacking power" or "bogging down" are simply a dull chain. It sure makes a huge diffrence when your chain is sharp! The one I received looked almost new. Just a few scuffs on the bar, and a small scatch on the bottom. I have also read a few comments about the saws arriving with "oil/bar oil leaked out in the box". In my experience (about 32 years of chainsaw experience) they all leak to some extent. It should be expected of a "refurb". All in all, for less than $150 this saw is a fantastic buy, and money well spent. If you are in the market for a saw and don't want to spend a wad of money you should seriously consider puchasing this one. (I know I'm glad I did!) This was my first purchase from VMI. I can honestly say it wont be my last! Fantastic prices, fast shipping, great customer support. What more could one realistically ask for?

Fastest saw i have owned

Well to start with my new saw arrived pretty quick and was easy to set up. Had to wait a few days to use it, but then the fun began. Had a lot of storm damage from a freak snow storm and this saw cleaned it very quickly. Just followed the directions and the saw started and ran like a champ in no time most of the large limbs were cut up, and some of them were rather large 12+ inches mostly red oak. I really like the saw and hope it continues to work well. All in all a great buy

Liked it so much I bought a second 435

I bought one Husky 435 saw in Jan 2012 and a second in April 2012. Between the two of them I've used about 50 chainsaw tanks of gas. Both have worked great and are still running very well. They have good power to weight ratio and the 16 inch bar is adequate for most jobs. I have been thinning forest land and will often fall 600 to 900, one inch to eight inch diameter trees with three tanks of gas. At the age of 61, I like to use a lighter saw. When I go to the woods I always take two or three saws. Stuff happens, saws get stuck in trees and need to get cut out or you hit metal or a rock and the chain is dull. It is much easier to grab a second saw than to try and sharpen/replace a chain in the field.

Not a Stihl... but not bad

Having used chainsaws for over 30 years, it was a breeze to put together and get going. The chain break is different than what I am used to, so it took a couple of extra minutes getting that figured out. Push the primer bulb until you see a little gas move into it before trying to start. The initial start requires maybe 4 pulls. It fired right up. I am used to using a Stihl saw with about 15 cc more power. As long as you recognize the saw's limitations and let it do the work instead of forcing it through the wood, it cuts great. The saw I received looked as though it had never been used. There were no scratches anywhere on the saw body. There was no paint worn off of the bar. In my opinion, I got a new saw at just over half the price the local box stores want for the same saw.

Great saw for the Money

Great lightweight limbing saw and up to the task for light bucking and clean up jobs. The narrow kerf chain makes this thing cut fast for the amount of power it generates. Just be wary, it's not a fuel injected car, mine needed a carb tweak out of the box, but it's running great since.
