I bought one of these chains saws 3 years ago and I'm still using it . I am female and I cut down so much with this saw bigger trees too and have never had any problems only a new chain . Now I'm going to buy a bigger one . So light weight and easy to use . I absolutely love it . I live on an acreage and lots of fence line to clean up .
Over a three day period. Cleared sapplings 1 to 6 inch in diameter. The battery did not run down fast. The quick recharge of 45 min was great. As long as you follow good under and notching(as outlined in the manual) cutting. I never felt the saw was laboring. One drawback was the oiling button. A few times the button would stick in the depressed mode. Maybe I was depressing it to hard. Overall I was very satisfied with my purchase and recommed it to a friend. Hey Scotts now you need to make light duty garden tiller using the same charging system. Please.
Small, lightweight and easy to use. Great for smaller diameter trees/logs.
I have only used twice, plus this is my first chainsaw so I cannot compare to others, but my only "complaint" is that you have to remember to depress oil button every 20-30 seconds. Seems to cut everything easily - I have cut small pine trees 16" diameter without much problem. I have not yet had to adjust chain so cannot comment on that. Battery charges quickly and seems to hold a charge for at least an hour or so.
Chain drive gear pin broke! Saw only used for a short time!
Would like to have operator's manual to be able to use properly without voiding warranty.
This product is great for light work, just as I had hoped. However, it is extremely dangerous because the chain does not shut off consistently. I took it to a Scotts repair service as recommended by customer service. They found that the safety release slides under the trigger assembly-a design flaw or manufacturing flaw. There were no internal problems such as burrs, etc. that would cause it to stick. It's a handy tool for small jobs but one must be extremely careful not to be injured.
