loved the game on pc 85%. the only problem was is that my PC isn't for gaming so had to degrade the graphics a bit.
I Bought this game the other day Via Steam. I run this game highest graphics and everything and its so amazing best GTA game ever. BTW my PC spec's are Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700 2.66GHz OverClocked to 3.0GHz 4Gigs of Ram and 2 GTS 250 in Sli on a Asus Motherboard.
First of all "YOU MUST HAVE A VERY FAST PC" I have the PS3 version "a little desapointed" the PC version is "OFF THE HOOK" you have more controll on the graphics and details. I have 1GB on my video board and 8GB on my system. I have a AMD Phenom Quad Core. The game runs smoothly and there are way more people in the streets then the one for playstation. The details are awsome. I am running it at 1920x1280 resolution and everything is set for extra high.
yes I needed to upgrade my computer (its 7 yrs old) and it was quite frustrating to get running the first time and I cant play on line. $80 for a graphics card, $35 for a controller, two evenings searching for what you have to do to get it to run, I only play single player off line, It is a great game to play and I oniy paid $10.75 for it. 5 stars
Its true this is a great game but you do need a powerfull gaming machine to play. But if u play PC games on the regular than its not a big deal. This game alone is worth the cost of a power house PC. The graphics on the pc version are better than 360 and PS3 combined 10 fold!!! I recomend this game to any serious pc gamer. But if your a serious gamer than this is not news for you.
For this price and the game itself, it's a fantastic buy. The graphics are good, the game play is fun and will last you for a long time, even after the game is complete their is still plenty to do. The game runs butter smooth on my gaming rig, settings are maxed out and a solid 100-170 FPS always. The game installed and then started right up the first time, running as admin or in compatibility can help some problems. All in all an enjoyable game for a very reasonable and affordable price. Some tips for anyone having problems, GTA IV for PC has some steep system requirements that many people simply do not have and/or cannot afford, make sure to check the official minimum requirements before you purchase. I highly recommend having at least a quad core processor and a GPU (Graphics card) of Nvidia Geforce 9800 or equivalent and 4 gigabytes of RAM. This is the bare minimal I would suggest for being able to play it properly on low to possibly medium settings.
This game is fun but getting started was a little difficult, my pc can handle it just fine but i kept getting Error message 10 when i would try to play. I finally figured it out that windows firewall was blocking the game from starting so after that everything is fine. Im happy with my purchase just make sure your pc will handle it before you buy. Enjoy!!
Runs poorly on dual core processors and outdated graphics cards. However, I just purchased an AMD A10-4600M Quad-core, and I'm happy to report than GTA4 runs spectacularly, given that it is one of very few titles to take full advantage of all available cores, and AMD's surprisingly fair integrated graphics. Untested on Intel chipsets by me, I can only safely recommend an Ivy Bridge i7 with decent discrete graphics card. Great gameplay, as should be common knowledge- spectacular multiplayer. 4/5 on Meets Expectations only because of specific downloadable patches needed to run it on Windows 7 or 8, though they're easily found via Google.
The story and dynamics of this game are very engaging. It's a mix between great graphics, story and music. They have added a lot of great features and it definately surpasses my expectations. I have high-end computer but even so there is video lag every so often. Even so.... it's definately playable. I highly recommend.
This game is buggy and you have to jump through hoops to get it to work. This is not just some random rant that seems to show up in every review. If you Google GTA4 error messages you will find many. Buy GTA5 instead!; it is better written and the game is more popular.
