Overall, this set from Safety 1st is strong and secure and easy to install. Particularly, this set gives you the option of anchoring with just the TV, the furniture, or both simultaneously. The thickness of these straps gives it a much more secure feeling to me than some of the steel wire versions I've tried. The only requirement is that you need a flat surface on the back of your furniture to attach the bracket to. The bracket flares out at an angle where the straps attach, but if the surface you need to screw it into were too recessed, it can be difficult. Overall, this set does the job well and suitable for those that live in apartments as well if you do not want to damage the walls.
As the parent of a toddler, I appreciate these furniture and TV straps. I feel more comfortable with these, to prevent any mishaps. It requires a bit of handiwork and you may see the straps, but I'd rather be safe than sorry. I would recommend to others as well.
I wish I'd known these existed before because these are amazing. My granddaughter has somehow been able to knock over and break three televisions. These would have definitely saved those. You no longer have to worry about your baby or toddler getting hit by it either. Highly recommend these.
What a great brand this is, I think they have a problem solver product for any need. This is an inexpensive way to protect you or your loved ones - little and big - from a bad accident. Tall and heavy objects can trap and seriously injure you if they get tipped over. This is a great way to prevent that from happening. We used this to tie down the tv in our living room to the tv stand. The tie down is easy to attach to the tv and the stand and only took a few minutes and a couple of tools you probably already have in your home. Be safe.
Review of Safety 1st TV and furnniture safety straps This has four mounting options. I included a picture in the review of the different mounting options. This is a good product to have for safety and I like that there different ways to use it. Overall would recommend.
I received this product for free for an honest opinion. The straps were pretty simple to install & mount on the wall. It kept the TV from being pulled forward. I just needed a hand drill/power drill & screwdriver to install it. At least we can stop putting things on the ground to block my son from reaching the TV. I just have to watch my son from knowing how to use the straps. He learns like the other kids by observation.
Pros: Reviewed the manual and doesn't seem to have any weight limits so two straps should be enough in most instances and fairly easy installation Cons: Depending on furniture, you may see the brackets peaking over the edge of the furniture In order for this to work, you need to line up the brackets/furniture with the studs on the wall. I installed 2 sets (dresser and bookshelf) both of them were only furniture to wall and they seem to work well and give me peace of mind. Haven't had a toddler test them because my little one isn't that size yet, but we are comfortable with the product and its sturdiness.
I am no professional when it comes to doing home tasks involving tools and such. However, I am learning due to the fact that my husband has been disabled the past few years. The way this product is described and even with looking at some of the images of the final product once it's completely done, I thought this would be a little bit simpler than it actually was for me. It is partly just me I'm sure, but also the product itself is not exactly perfect. I cannot stress enough however that this product really works. It is worth the extra time and effort it took to avoid my grandbaby getting hurt. I used mine to strap the tv to my shelving unit and got another one to strap shelving unit to wall. The first issue I had was with the directions. I found them to be a bit less descriptive than they should be. Directions for dummies should be included as well. I had to reread them a couple times to finally get it. The next issue was with the screws. The ones for the tv are too fat and not long enough. I had to go out and get better, more accurate screws for my tv. It did work perfecty however for strapping the shelving unit to the wall. But I guess tv's are all different and the screws did not work for mine. Once I got past the lack of understanding the directions intially and then got the right screws for the tv it was not too bad. I got it all setup and the straps are in place nice and tight. I feel so much more confident if our toddler granddaughter were to attempt to pull on the shelf or tv that it would stay firmly in place. We of course are usually supervising her constanly, but it only takes seconds for a tragedy to happen. We all have a moment of getting distracted for a couple seconds and that is literally all it takes. I am really happy that I took the time to figure this out. Overall, it was not that bad and the end product is perfect. These are quite effective and increase safety tremendously. I do recommend them.
My only issue is it is slightly difficult to place but totally worth the effort. Every home with a child needs this. I know this has saved my child she likes to pull on my tv. Please put these on your tv this could definitely save your child's life if you don't have it on the wall.
takes out paint but not clearly written about not using it on painted walls.
