The Generator was just as described and arrived on time and undamaged. I went with a propane generator this time after nearly 20 years fighting with old gas and hard starting of my old but similar sized gasoline engine unit. The new generator's volt meter and engine hour meter are nice features as are both a 3 and 4 prong 240 VAC twist lock receptacle. The unit has a manual start rewind but spend about $20 or so for a "U1" group sized battery at Walmart and save your arm. The assembly was simple. I did have to swap out the cotter key on one of the wheels for a smaller size to get it to go together; and the battery mounting plate took a little tweaking to get it to stay level but no big deal. I had to grease the choke to get it to move in and out but again, no big deal. I put oil in it, connected the propane, hit the purge button a few seconds, and it started up and ran smooth. It is a little quieter than my old gas engine generator but don't expect any of these sized generators to be "quite". I have no real run time on it so can't yet say anything about durability but it is basically an all metal design and the "fit and finish" seems good; especially considering the price.
Runs great
Purchased this mainly because every time I try one of my 2 other gas generators it will not start. No matter how I try to store the generator, stai bil, pure gas, running generator empty. It will not start the next time. This generator, just hook up propane and start it up. Easiest generator ever.
Easy ordering online and the generator was shipped to store in a very timely manor.
Easy assembly ran well.
Found Out right away the Low Oil Shutdown Works. That's a Good Thing. I replaced my aging 3500 Kohler RV Generator . Was Hoping it would Run Everything At the Same Time. I have 1 - 10,000 BTU AC on High , Refrigerator, Lights,TV then Tried 1500W Microwave it Kicked the Breaker On The Generator. I put the AC on Hi Fan then The Microwave Worked.
I ordered this item on line via the Hayneedle branch of Walmart and the box was delivered in good condition. After completing the minor assembly of wheels and rubber supports, I noticed that one of the circuit breakers was not functional and a pilot light was not factory assembled but the parts seemed to be loose in the shipping box. In addition there was some broken plastic (seems to be non-critical) shielding in the box that was not shipping damage. My main complaint is the absolute non-communication by the manufacturer JD Industries a front for Chinese manufacturing. I sent an email with pictures to JD Industries but never got any return communication. I am unsure if the generator is safe to use or will even work without the circuit breaker properly installed. I need resolution of this issue.
