I lived in Maryland 30 plus years ago and loved this pie and the first thing I wanted was a tastykake baked pie
It seems that tastykake wants to jam the banana split and smores down your throat by stopping production of the chocolate klair. They have been missing from shelves all summer long. From every convince store the owners and operators all say the same thing we can't get them.
I love these tastyklair pies so much I'd eat them every day if I wouldn't end up on my 600 lb life. They are the best dessert. They don't seem to be getting restocked in Gettysburg PA, what's up with that? I agree with another commenter, they should be able to be ordered on this web site.
It's actually rlly good it makes your mouth watery and makes your toes curl with the first bite and the inside is so creamy
The Eclair pie has always been my favorite!!! The chocolate topping always was aplenty on top. Now not so much. It looks like just a skid mark on top. I guess that's just the way it is now, smaller and less. I'm from Philly, but live in Del.
The images on the package show the whole top covered with the icing and they have been putting less and less frosting on the pies this veriety and all others with frosting they are cutting back on how much is on them all this is not the same flavor but same result on all products with icing
The last few times I bought the Tasty Klair, I was so disappointed. The picture on the box shows a nice, thick slab of chocolate icing. That's what Tasty Klairs used to look like. Now they have a thin stripe across the top that you can barely see or taste. What the heck is that? The recipe has changed as well. They used to be phenomenal, now they lacking in taste. I still buy them every once in a while, but I hate what the company has done to this pie.
Is there a chocolate icing shortage? Not just a few, but all of the Tasty Klairs I've gotten over the last 6 months have been about half the icing I've grown up with so can't just write it off as a bad batch. Dissaponted as the price for these snacks continues to rise, while the quality seems to be going in the opposite direction, might be time to change the pic on the box to match the new contents.
Bought on for first time in many years. The price has continued to rise as the filling and tiny strip of chocolate on top has shrunk. The old time bakers must be rolling over in their graves seeing the corporate greed of todays tastykake company.
Whenever I buy these pies, I always check to see which ones have the most frosting, at my local grocery store there was only 2 of these pies available, well the one I puchased had the most frosting, when I opened the package well looks are very deceiving there is very little frosting, I remember these pies being loaded with the frosting, these pies are very dry without the frosting. Poor quality control, and tastykake being cheap and costing customers an arm and leg. Very disappointing! Very dissatisfied customer!
