I ordered two of these motion activated spot lights to light a 120' long walkway hoping to get about 30 ft. of illumination from each individual spot light. I think I get about 20' of good illumination but a little goes a long way in total darkness so I am satisfied. I may purchase one more to better fill the gap on the darkest portion of the walkway. The lights are nice and bright and work as advertised.
This light is everything it is advertised to be. It's easy to install but it takes a couple tries to get it adjusted properly for sensitivity and hue. It's not real bright but sheds enough light on my grill to be able to cook in the dark. The unit I received was grey in color, not white.
I really like this product. The lights are pretty bright. I bought two lights. i have one by my carport and it lights up my car has soon has I get to it. It also has a pretty good range for the sensor. I also have it lighting up a dark area by the side of the house and it works great. The light is not too bright so that it will not disturb the neighbors at night.
Works great, easy to insall, durable. perfect amount of light for side yards and patios. may not be enough for a driveway.
I needed to protect my back door and there isn't a convenient electrical outlet to provide power. Bought this unit and the long 9' cord from the collector to lights allowed me to position the unit for best light. Bright enough for my needs and I feel so much more comfortable and safe having this self activating light to illuminate my back door prior to leaving at night. I might add that my back door faces an alley and you never know who is roaming the alleys at night. There are many units out there but I am so happy I purchased this one. All my outdoor lights have gone to LED and replacement bulbs are a thing of the past.
Does what I wanted it to do by lighting up a dark area between my house and my rental house next door. Will no doubt purchase more of these in the future. good instructions, easy to mount and the instructions even told me that the 3 rechargeable aa batteries will last 2 years and must be replaced.
Each lamp produces about as much light as a bright LED flashlight. That's what I expected and it suits my needs for illuminating the door of my storage shed.
This security light works very well and is brighter than I expected. The only real drawback is that when you need to change batteries in this model, you have to unplug it from the solar panel and remove it from the wall because the battery compartment is in the back. The batteries that come with the light are supposed to last for 3 years, so every 3 years or maybe more often you will have to uninstall the light to change the batteries.
Great sensitivity capability but weak on lighting power. It is capable of detecting movements from at least 20 feet, but the number of LEDs per lamp is minimal. Not sufficient for a large area ie. in front of a garage door. For another $30-$40 more, other Maxsa models are better values. The surface area on the other Maxsa models are also alot larger.
As has been mentioned, this does not put out a lot of light, but I wanted it to get into the house after dark, so it provides enough light for that. But if you live anywhere that gets a fair to substantial amount of rain, this product will not work if the sensor is out in the open. It is installed on the side of my house. Anything more than a light sprinkle will knock it out for weeks as the sensor dries. My light has spent more time not working since I installed it in August than working. I am willing to admit that the first two storms that knocked it out were unusually heavy [one had 4.5" of rain], but a half inch of rain should not flood the sensor! I suspect it will not be much better in the lake effect snows, especially since it is positioned in a windtunnel.
