I recently upgraded from the Turtle Beach X41's to the XP500, and I am extremely happy with the improved sound and the truly wireless headset with the Bluetooth capability built in. It is fantastic for gaming, and I get even better sound for movies.
I have owned turtle beach headsets for gaming for a long time. I decided I wanted to upgrade my x31's. A buddy of mine has the COD Delta's and loves them. Which made me look at these since they looked like the same set without the COD licensing. Hooked them up and they had some great presets for when I was playing FPS's. Downloaded some new presets and really started to have fun with them. You can voice morph the mic channel. Even create your own presets. There are no wires to contend with at your controller. I even Bluetooth it to my thunderbolt phone and can take calls in game. I also use it with my iPad and my hopper DVR since they will Bluetooth to those as well. The only thing is they are a little pricey. Out of the 4 headsets I've owned, these have diffenetly been the best purchase outta of the 4. Tired of buying talk back cables? No worries with these they don't have to have them. They come with a bluetooth adapter for your Xbox controller. If you ever want to use a talk back Cable they will work with those too. They do have less range from the receiver than my x31's, but they have about a 20ft range compared to the 30ft I got on my 31's. If you are a compitive gamer and want a true wireless headset, then look no farther than these. I've heard astro's have better sound but I would rather have no wires my self.
I had used the x11 set for a long time now and wanted to upgrade to wireless. I was semi hesitant about these because of the price. I still think the price is high, just in general. The headset is incredible though. Crisp, loud, astounding sound quality. I have the receiver on a shelf behind the tv (about ten feet away) and I get no trouble with the wireless connection. No interference either from other wireless devices. The bluetooth capability is awesome and the presets make different types of games that much better. Only thing I'd change is the price. I gave it 4/5 but its more like 3.5/5. Great headset, just a lot of money.
I'm a big time gamer and this is headset is great. The sound is really clear and you can hear things you wouldn't normally hear on another headset(such as footsteps in rain or sneaking). I love the fact that I can take calls on it during my game and walk around the house with it on and still chat when I want to go to the fridge or something. The only down side is the price obviously and that I always have a little trouble adjusting the mic so my friends can hear me since it has to be adjusted to a specific angle but other than that it is surely worth the money.
