This is a super strong and convenient hair dryer. The cord stores inside the handle and then the handle folds up to make storage easier. Would be great for travel!
Purchased our second Cord Keeper. Original lasted an estimated 15 years. Though the original GFI plug burned out when the cord next to it shorted, I replaced with a heavy standard plug and last year the original rubber cord shorted out and I replaced it with 15 amp twin conductor cord and the recoil mechanism was not usable any longer and the folding handle mechanism broke a few years ago, the basic functionality of the dryer has been exceptional. The ancillary pieces need to be stronger but the overall performance warranted us purchasing a new one when a few weeks ago in the middle of drying my hair it quit and never worked again. Assuming an internal thermal protector fuse finally opened up. Not bad for 15 years. One habit we initiated was to never shut it off hot. I always press the cool button until the air coming out is cooler. Heat is the enemy of any electric device and the purpose is to not let the high heat of the elements stay inside the dryer to "cook" the internal parts as it cools down after use. Takes only a few seconds to cool it off. That apparently had a lot to do with the 15 year use. The new Cord Keeper seems to be only slightly different but still the same basic design that works. Satisfied customer.

The features of the hair dryer are very nice and it's lightweight. If you're looking for a good retractable cord, mine does not fully retract most of the time. The cord retracts about 2/3 of the way which is okay for my needs.
This is a great idea with horrible performance. I purchased it purely for the compact storage and travel features and the cord never stows away without a fight. $30 bucks is a reasonable price and the product should function properly.
I bought this a couple weeks ago and the retractable cord (Cord Keeper) barely works only if you push the cord into the handle. This is the second one I purchase and the result is the same. This model is a hard do not buy. The best model is the 309R. I wish model 309R was still being made. Model 289N is junk. The rewind mechanism was changed when the model changed and now it is a borderline product liability case.
Dangerous dryer, overheats and cord busted right off as I was drying my hair.
This is the third time buying this product. The dryer either dies or the cord rewind fails OR both! This latest purchase the cord rewind failed out of the box. The only reason I continue to guy it is because of the folding handle. I have very limited space in my apartment. Please improve the product - I am willing willing to pay more for a better product.
