I recently received several of the Hello Hobby Stencils. We are planning to strip wallpaper and do some painting this spring so I though using stencils would be a fun way to add interest to rooms. I have never stenciled before so I wanted to get an idea of what stenciling would entail. I picked a medium sized design to play with for the first time. I did not have the right application tools but this did give me an idea of how to do it and what I would need. It worked well on fabric using fabric paint and I tested the stencil on a presentation board using acrylics. Cleaning the stencil with the paints I used is going to take more than soapy hot water. Most of the pain came off fine and I pressed the sheet between paper towels to dry. I will definitely be visiting the craft aisle to get the best application tools and such. These stencils are made to withstand paints, cleaning and general handling. I am looking forward to using these to add interest in my future decorating. I will also be using them on gift projects.
I do like this stencil set, but I think I need a bit larger. It's on me. It's a great stencil set, you can re use it as many times. Just have to wipe down if Paint gets on it.
This pack comes with 3 sheets, one for upper case, one for lower case, and the last one for numbers and a handful of symbols. The lower case sheet and the numbers/symbols sheet are better spaced and can be cut up. The fonts are 1.5 inches in height, cut on translucent plastic. They are washable, but I couldn't get my pen markings off. I really like the style of the font, it's my favorite out of my stencil collections.
Sometimes when you get stencils they can be thin which is turn makes them a bit floppy and then paint or whatever runs underneath and ruins your projects. I noticed with this particular stencil that it was thick enough to not have that problem and still laid flat easily. I love the font and am excited to use this many times over.
This is a really high quality stencil and the perfect letter and number size for making wall art and gifts. I look forward to using it to create art around my home. The letters and numbers are in a cursive script and range in size from 5/8 to 1 1/8th inch and it includes numbers and some symbols.
I was so excited to receive these stencils I can do allot with them as decorate my granddaughter room they always wanted their names on their wall plus encouraged words.
I got these to make a few signs for friends and family. The print is just large enough to be seen but not over bearing. I rolled paint over them and when properly secured, there was very little bleeding outside the stencil area. The stencile was also very easy to clean as well.
I am very unsure how the hashtag will end up turning out. It's an odd shape, but I've never stenciled a hashing so it may end up being ok. Other than that these letters are good, the font is cute, capital and lowercase letters are included. The plastic is not super thin and it's slightly flexible and textured which gives good grip when painting. The letters are pretty small so be sure to measure when planning your projects.
I gave it a try and did not succeed lol my son stepped in and started doing his name. At first he couldn't get a clean letter but got a little better. It takes practice. I love they are washable and it comes with upper and lower case letters and numbers.
This plastic stencil set is convenient. It would be good a school project but nothing huge. The letters themselves are relatively small, about an inch in height. Smaller for the lower case. The writing is quite narrow as well. I was able to use a pencil on them to practice with but I can't imagine a tip much wider wouldn't be able to trace it. I like how the stencil itself is plastic. Great quality for reuse. Still be careful because the flaps can lift and smudge your writing.
