I had never seen this product before and was so excited to find it! It is really pretty simple but a major help. I have 2 kids, one 3 yo and one 1 yo. This product works on my 3 yo convertible car seat - if only there were one for the little guy too!!! It goes onto the seat so easily - the band is flexible and holds the position that you flex it to...so you wrap it around the car seat, starting from the back of the seat, and then the little plastic slots of the seatbelt straps come around to the front sides of the seat. It did take me a minute to figure out that I really needed to pinch the strap tight on the seat sides to get a good secure fit -you can't just wrap it around and have it stay. But once you do as the directions say!) it is a great fit and the holder slots stay right there. So my 3 yo doesn't sit on the seatbelt straps anymore!!!! When your hands are full or you are in a busy parking lot, or just in a hurry, it is a such a great thing! I would definitely recommend this - this is a great new idea. There were 2 in the pack, so great for the money.... I am using the second one on my highchair. +++
I've read reviews of this product and it seemed people either loved it or found it annoying...nothing inbetween, and almost didn't buy it. I am glad I did... Now that I have used the Buckle-Pals strap holders for a few weeks, it seems that it is VERY important that to make this easiest to use...you need to put the seatbelt straps into the hooks when you take your child OUT of the seat so that when you come BACK to the seat and are holding your child, the straps are out of the way and the runway is clear! The Buckle-Pals strap can slide a little on the seat side if you don't really squeeze it onto the plastic car seat molding - my son actually used a pair of pliers to squeeze it nice and tight onto the side of my grandson's Graco seat. Now it stays put really well. At first we just had the Buckle-Pals strap wrapped around the seat, but it truly needs to be pinched onto it like the directions say. The strap has some sort of stiff but flexible insert that allows you to shape it however you need. The hooks are definitely helpful, maybe could be deeper, but like I said, when I am UNBUCKLING my grandson is when I put his straps into the hooks, then when i come BACK to the car with him next time, it is so much easier. I think it would help if the instructions give this tip. So hopefully, the review will help some people think of the idea. If you wait until you come back to the car seat with your child in your hand, it can be a little harder to get the seatbelt straps into the hooks. Doing it as you UNbuckle the child saves you all the trouble later and makes this such a great added convenience. I love it. Not sure why they have two in a box, but I will share the other one with my neighbor. Still a good value 2 sets for that price.
Genius. Something so logical and useful, but not available until now. Everyone with a child in a car seat or high chair should own BucklePals. So easy and so inexpensive. Nice job!!!!
I bought these for my Graco convertible car seat. Very easy to install - (if you need help, there are installation instructions on manufacturers website listed on the box). It has a strap that bends and poses into place. Very easy to use - now when I am unbuckling my daughter, instead of dropping the straps behind her and into the seat ...as I unbuckle her, I drop the seatbelt straps into the hook ends on the Buckle-Pals and they stay there on the seat sides. It's a DREAM to come out into a rainy mall parking lot with strollers, bags, and kids to load into the car....and to be able to plop my daughter into the seat without her sitting on the straps...now we buckle up without the irritating wrestling match with the seatbelt straps. Best thing since disposable diapers!
This product is not a fix-all for the problems with carseat straps, but it does serve it's purpose. I would strongly recommend putting the seatbelt straps up on the holders when you take your child out of the carseat (as opposed to when you are trying to put them in) to get the best ease of use out of this product. For the price, with two included, it really is worth it.
The straps on our convertible car seats were prone to tangling. This product helps keep them out of the way, so we can easily buckle in our child. You definitely have to put the straps in the holders prior to taking the child out of the seat. Takes a second, not a big deal. And, they will not hold the entire strap since they are not wide enough, but they hold the strap out of the way so that when you buckle your child back in it eliminates the inevitable twising of the straps when you are trying to get them from underneath and behind the child. They are easy to install and when they've falled off the seat, it's easy to put them right back on when the seat is rear-facing. I haven't encountered forward facing yet. The price is right for this product.
Product idea is good, but could not get it to stay attached to the car seat. Plus, curious baby would play with it and it would come off. I would recommend to try it, you never know. Walmart has a great return policy. I think using velcro would work better.
When I first saw this product online I thought "Wow, what a great idea". However, now I wish I hadn't wasted my money. They won't stay on my 10 month old's carseat. And even if you can get them to stay, it's more of a hassel to get the seat belts into the clips than just not using them at all. The clips are very small, making it very difficult to get the seat belt strap into it. And like I said before, they keep falling off. I took them off her carseat a few days after I bought them. Great concept, not so great product.
I returned the item to the store the following day... The straps did not stay on the car seat as it showed in the picture or described in the instructions. This product was more of a hassle than a help. I was very glad that I did not pay shipping..........
It really did not work well with the child seat... Still trying to figure out how it works... There is nothing to keep them in place while the straps are not in them. Plus my daughter is still pretty small so there is not enough shoulder strap to reach the holder. Maybe when she gets bigger it will work better.
