This phone is THE BEST phone for straight talk!

This phone exceeds my expectations and I purchased the refurbished one that has been on and off the website because of its high demand. I actually had my order delayed two days waiting for this phone to be available. Well worth the wait. Faster and bigger than my verizon LG Lucid phone. I have watched this phone since it was released and finally was able to escape verizons contract. Advice is use wifi when possible and do not do illegal downloading or pirating because you will be flagged from straight talk and have problems. Other than that my showtime has better service in my house than my Lucid did. 4 bars as oppose to 1.5-2 if i'm lucky even though they both are CDMA verizon phones. Get this phone new or refurbished while you can. Also get a good silicone/hard hybrid case. These are the best for shock absorption. A screen protector as well as this does not have gorilla glass like my lucid does. we will see how it holds up to a car mechanics demands and accidents. If you do have problems be patient with straight talk service. It always pays off for me in the end.

A Lot Of Phone For The Money

I had read a lot of the reviews both positive and negative, and chose to give this phone a try.. I have yet to find any of the negative reviewers problems.. I am over 60yrs old and not a "techy" type.. I am still finding new things that this phone will do and it has a lot of items that are advertised on much more costly phones such as hands free dialing, the Bluetooth works flawlessly with the system in my car, and the phone will run for two days on a charge if you turn off the options not being used. The camera takes great pictures and are very easy to attach to emails or text messages.. I know there are better phones out there, but this one does the job for me and it met and actually exceeded all of my expectations. Also, it was easy to get a belt clip holder, protective case and car charger on E-Bay for about $25.00.. another feature I really liked. At $200.00, you are getting a LOT of Phone..

This phone is an excellent value. I wanted a front-facing camera so I can Skype, and a lot of the cheaper phones don't have it. Both cameras are great! Flash is a real plus. Lots of other nice features too. To those of you who are new to Straight Talk: look for the code on the front of the box (left bottom corner) to indicate what towers your phone will use. I wanted Verizon, and this phone has the code: CDMA-V. This means it can use Verizon towers. I think the Sprint phones are marked CDMA-S. Unfortunately, they make this information hard to find because you can't see the box on the Walmart website! I checked several Walmart stores and they didn't have it in stock, so I had to order it site-to-store, which was fine. So how do you know which phones work off of which towers? Aside from reading reviews, the only way I was able to find this information without seeing the box was to call Straight Talk customer service. Yes, the representative had a heavy accent, but he was very helpful and I had no trouble communicating with him. Once I ordered the phone and picked it up, I saw the CDMA-V code on it, and this confirmed that it would use Verizon towers. As an aside, I was originally looking to buy the Samsung Galaxy S3, but with Straight Talk, that is a Sprint phone. Happily, the LG Ultimus Showtime is much less expensive, and seems very comparable. Also, it only has 2 GB internal storage and a 4 GB card included, but you can upgrade to 32 GB for not much money, so I don't see a problem. Well, I thought I would contribute this info because it took a lot of digging to find all of this. I used other people's reviews, so I thought I would return the favor. Love this phone so far! Buying more for the kids.

I had the android precedent for 2 yrs and it finally went out on me. I was going to get the Samsung GalaxysIII but wife told me this phone works off Verizon towers. I looked at it and it had more memory and was bigger then my phone and had the same aspects of the Samsung Galaxy s III. Got it home and only took 5 mins to set up. The download speed is awesome. The only problem is you have to buy the case from another distributor but that is fine and all. you can get a hard case with belt clip case from Amazon. This phone is [Wait for it] --------------------AWESOME. TO MAKE THE SEARCH FASTER FOR YOU ON AMAZON TYPE IN MODEL NUMBER L85C AND IT WILL BRING UP CASES FOR THAT PHONE.

This is my first Smartphone. After researching a lot of phones used in my area I went with the LG Optimus Showtime. I did have Verizon Wireless, but when I wanted to upgrade to a Smartphone they wanted over $100.00 for the lowest pkg.. That's why I am using Straight Talk now. The LG Optimus Showtime is a great phone. I have only been using it for a little over a week but I am enjoying it. Good camera quality, lots of free apps to download and I like having the GPS, Yahoo mail and Facebook. I even downloaded a free app so I can listen to my favorite radio station in Seattle, WA. I had trouble hooking up to my wireless internet at my home so I called Straight Talk and they had me using my own wireless in no time. :) Well worth the $45.00 a month for all of the great features I am using and I also paid for the extra warrenty through Wal-Mart, $19.00 for an additional 2 yrs. :) I would highly recommend this phone!

A Great Phone For The Price

I went from an old phone to the LG Optimus Showtime. I've had this phone for about a week and haven't had any problems. The set up was easy and simple to get through. It runs off of Verizon towers, which is fantastic for the area I live in. Apps are easy to find and download. The battery life is about what you would expect from a smartphone. I always take my phone off the charger when it's done charging, so I don't over charge it since the battery will wear down and lose battery life, as would any phone. Easy feature to close down open apps by pressing and holding the home button. The game play is awesome. Overall, I'm very satisfied with my purchase. Pros: Sleek design, easy to handle, the multi-touch display works great as well as the keyboard, switching from app to app is great. Cons: The battery can run down fast if you have the location services on constantly and a lot of apps running.

First off, this is my first straight talk phone and first android. So I can't really comment on whether the 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is better or not. I'm still learning the ins and outs of an android but as a first one I far from regret it - this phone is great. There are some cons so I'll go through those before I talk about what I do like. - battery life is okay. For the first few days to nearly week I had to charge it every night but I was playing on it often so apps were running more frequently. With minimal app usage it lasts much longer, but still not as long as I would have liked. -The camera is GOOD don't get me wrong but I didn't set anything and I've gone through to see if I've clicked "timer"; maybe there's something set and I don't know, my last phone wasn't very good so I'm new to a nice camera with all the settings it has, but for some reason it randomly will snap a a photo before I tap the button - it like focuses on an object I'm facing the camera at and snaps. It only happens sometimes so I don't know if it's the phone or a setting but it seems to happen if I switch back and forth to the front facing. For now those are the only issues. It's fast, especially on verizon. You can snap shot on this phone. The quality of the photos are great - I wish it was an 8 megapixel for the price but my last was 3 so I don't have room to complain. I've talked on it a few times and no one seems to have issues hearing me, and I hear other people much clearer. The screen is clear and just the right size - not overly large but big enough that you get more on the screen. Now since this isn't a galaxy 2 where there are easily accessible cases, I had to dig around for one. The case I bought for this phone is technically a LG Venice/Splendor LS730/US730 case but it fits perfectly! I don't know if it's just this case that fits and others won't but this one worked. So far this phone has been worth the 249 I paid.

The greatest phone I ever had

It's a great phone; works on Verizon network, 1 GHz processor is fast enough to manage multiple apps at the same time. The only problem is that is expensive phone, Boost selling it as Venice for 179.99 , but again boost is on Sprint network, which is slow compare to Verizon , so you paying for the phone and great service too. The phone is light, easy to manage, and make a great companion, that introduces you to the world of Android.

This is my first android smartphone and I'm amazed at what all I can do with it, although it will take time and a LOT of patience for experimenting with it. My nephew has helped me a little by showing me different things I can do with it. The screen size is perfect and the dial pad and qwerty keyboard is just large enough for me to type without making too many errors. I think I'm going to enjoy using my new phone! And what a great price for the protection plan also!

My first smartphone. I like it. Uses the battery up fast unless you put it in Power Saver mode and still have to charge it every night, not like my old dumb-cell-phone that lasted for days. Good connectivity with WIFI and 3G. I would purchase this phone again based on what I know so far.
