I bought this for my son who's starting out on his own. He was so excited and said that the phone is great. He gets excellent reception and he likes the phone itself. I really liked how I could check service availability for his area prior to purchasing the phone.
Very pleased with my purchase.The phone was a refurb,free with purchase of the $45 straight talk unlimited plan.A nice upgrade from my old flip phone.I wasn't really concerned about a refurb product,as it does come with a warranty.I love the touch screen,the phone is easy to navigate,the screen is large enough to read,easy to adjust..even watched a movie-great picture.data speed is great.like the querty keyboard-easy to text..I would definitely recommend..
I read a lot of bad reviews on this, so I had low expectations. I have been using it on my wifi and as an MP3 player, and after about two and a half hours of running while listening to music I put on it, it still read full bars on the battery! It's no iPhone (which my wife has), but I'm very happy with it for the price. :) Though I haven't yet actually used it for the phone service, but our iphone that we just switched over has been great and I'm glad we made the switch from ATT, now saving half of what we were spending! :)
I can't say much about the phone part of it as I got it to use as an MP3 player and a backup in case my present phone breaks. The music player on this thing is very good. You don't have to make song lists or whatever you may call them. You can just dump the songs you want in a folder. Different folders for different types of songs. At least that's the way I do it and it works great. :)
Bought it for a first smartphone and wasn't really sure what features I wanted. The phone is good but the voicemail was tricky to set up. Web access is cumbersome but ok. The texting is the worst part of it ... no virtual QWERTY keyboard but instead a keypad where each key is 3 letters hit one for first letter, twice for second letter, 3 times for third letter. Very frustrating to use. The phone was only $5 with the 45$ card so I may get a better phone the next time I buy the 30 day card.
It is difficult to send or receive phone calls or texts as it freezes up often. The ringer and text alerts often will not go off even when the volume is on high. You can fix these problems by taking out the battery and putting it back in but it is aggravating having to do so many times in a day. I have previously purchased a refurbished phone from wal-mart before and was happy with it for the most part but not with this particular one.
This phone was a refurbished Tracphone which was not clearly indicated in the description. It is difficult to use at best. It constantly tells me that the memory is full, although I have loaded nothing to the phone, nor does it allow me to delete anything. The Internet is useless as is the keyboard. I get email, read the email and continue to get notifications that I have new email. After I picked this phone up, I saw that it was being advertised for free when I had just paid for it. I would have been better off with a flip phone! The screen is always locked when I want to take a call, but when it is in my purse, apparently the screen lock doesn't work and I get all sorts of bleeps and changes to my home screen I did not initiate. This phone's calendar is stuck on 2010. Do not buy this phone, do not take it for free! Run from this nightmare burden!
this phone is garbage for the 45.00 plan they want you to have for it, you are not able to get any live streams or video's such as youtube. not only that the phone does not let you stream music with an access denied or forbidden warning that comes up. therefore you really don't need the 3g service it claims you get because it wants you to go wi-fi from your home or say mcdonalds that offers free wifi. this plan was only thirty dollars in the past and they must have made it forty five so they can recover lost money from the leftover garbage phones nobody wants....
Bought the phone for my daughter spend 6 not joking 6 hours of the Customer service rep being rude until the guy finally said the phone is a piece and must be retured , however we will be able to have talk but no data or txt with the 45$ card but the refund of the airtime is not possible.
Only had it 4 days and it just stopped working. The screen just went black I didn't drop it or anything. It just went black mid conversation. I called straight talk and they were more than happy to send a replacement phone after I received the box to send the broke one back. They would send a replacement once the got the broke one back. Save your time and just get a new phone not a refurbished one. I just took it back to Wal-Mart and they were great n gave a full refund.
