When you just want a smart phone that works

If you are a gadget / gizmo fan who needs or really wants the latest and greatest, this phone is not for you. Get a Galaxy S4 or even a Note 3. If you really just wanting something to stay connected via phone, text, and internet, this phone with the $45 card will more than meet your needs. If you want to play big 1 gig games on it, forget it. It only has 150 meg internal and so you can't even download and install the big programs. You can move nearly all of the apps you download (outside of certain apps like some special keyboards) to your sd card. It is far from the latest android, but if your last phone was the G1 from a century ago with 1.6, this is a giant leap forward. I really like knowing I have a highly decent phone. I graduated from needing the latest years ago.

Phone was easy to set up. Works fine. Battery life isn't great but unless I play music for several hours, it is okay to text for a good while. Love the keyboard. Easy to learn and manipulate.

my first re-furb, but will not be my last! I think this was a very good deal. Bought phone as my wifes 1st "smart" phone. She's doin facebook & stuff on it, which is what she wanted. Walmart, Straight Talk & Verizon........Only way to go.

found this very easy to learn on..I am 57 and never had a smart phone..in fact I hate phones and until I got my own was never even sure how to answer one..my nature if not to read the instructions until I get stuck and haven't yet..I LOVE the fact I can text just my talking into it..being older my fingers just don't move like they used to and now I don't have to worry..my husband is disabled so its important he can get ahold of me fast and at all times so I went with a blue tooth earpiece I bought separate ...it was very easy to use with this phone..no digging for the phone in my purse..just a click on my ear and its answered..I like my things to fit my personality and in buying a case found most do not fit very well so check it out before buying it..seems to just be the model..I got a nice leather one with a clear front at walmart to protect it also the only other negative seems to me the battery life isn't that good but never having a smart phone maybe they just don't last that long so be sure you have a car charger or another way of charging if you are going to be gone long..almost went with another model but glad I went with the LG..the other one I looked at had bad reviews so read up before buying...I bought a refurbished one and glad I did..its just like new and was able to get the coverage on it added just as though it was new..so I think anyone would be happy with this..makes a great first phone

Versatile and Proficient

The LG Optimus Zip L75C is not an iPhone or even a Samsung Galaxy 5, but it IS a practical and proficient phone with a lot to offer its owner. I bought it foremost for its Verizon coverage and slide out QWERTY keyboard and it has delivered. In a remote area of Maui where I live, it performed well where other carriers would have left me stranded. But I love the real keyboard that has drastically reduced my typos (especially after owning a virtual keyboard model that was horrendous). It takes great pictures (good enough for my purposes) and displays it on a beautiful screen. Like I said, it's not like the higher end products but neither is the price! In many ways, it has become my junior iPad which I use on the road when I am beyond any WIFI coverage. If you are looking for a practical and productive phone at a fraction of the cost of many others, check out this phone. You may end up singing its praises as I do!

So far my only complaint with this phone is the amount of internal storage. Apps don't all go to the SD card so you run out of space quickly.

I did not expect Apple 5s performance for a $50

For months I searched to save money from my ATT plan. I bought the LG Slider after reading reviews and watching excited teens on youtube. The cost was about $90 including a $45 straight talk card so phone cost under $50. The phone only goes a couple days and needs a charge. My old dumb phone went 6 days. Internet, email, texting all works fine. The camera is unimpressive. no flash, but i didnt really care about the camera. My only concern is people I call hearing me. Today I had to hang up and use my land line so the party could hear me clearly. One thing I had to have is ATT or Verizon service. To me these are the only 2 providers that cover enough. This phone is Verizon. For those that dont know how straight talk works, I believe each phone works with one carrier. I wanted a Samsung, but the less expensive ones were not Verizon. Not sure if I can add to this review later, I hope people can hear me so I do not have to return this referbished phone. Referbished phones scare me because maybe that is why this is a returned phone. its defective. Oh and beware the $45 cards are $50 with all the tax and 911 charge and usage fees.

It's a decent phone. It's nothing fancy, but it does what you need it to. It has a slide out keyboard, which I didn't realize when I ordered it. It also has very little storage space. Even though it comes with an SD card, I can't download a lot of apps because it says the space is too low or some other error occurs. I moved all of my apps to the SD card, but it still does that. So unless I'm missing something there, it's not a good phone if you like to have a lot of apps. I've also noticed that I need to charge the battery a lot more than the last phone I had. Turning off the data helps prolong the battery life, but it's still not great. The Internet works pretty well tho and I've had good service so far. Overall this is a good phone if you don't care too much about apps. It's a good deal with the free month, and it's pretty user friendly as long as you charge it every day.

Just needs more memory. Can't add much to it.

Very easy to figure out, especially since it didn't come with instructions other than how to put it together.

You cannot download certain games and instagram. If you download more than 3 apps you cannot use phone to text.
