I found this rower to be impressive. It feels well made and has a weight limit of 300 lbs. This rower sits differently than my old rower. With the angle of this one, the back of my thighs burn like crazy. The magnetic resistance could be more but was enough for a good workout. It can be used without hooking up to the app. When it's not connected to an app, the blue light in front does blink and can be distracting. Seeing your stats via the app on your phone makes the experience better. I can see the resistance and how many strokes I've achieved. I appreciate that I was able to connect the app without having to put in a credit card number. My back can be finicky and this did not aggravate it at all. Overall, this is a solid rower that really works the legs.
The Echelon sport rower is amazing. I love how easy it was to set up straight out of the box. Unpackage and follow the easy step by step direction and within 15-20 minutes it's ready to go. I honestly expected a lot more parts and pieces but this rower was mostly preassembled which made it super convenient. The rower comes with 32 different settings of magnetic resistance. It also comes with a 90 day membership trial to try out all of the live and on demand classes including a scenic ride. The app is easy to install and takes a few minutes to set up and link to the rower through bluetooth. Once connected, it's very simple to get going and see the schedule of live classes. I tried a few and was very impressed how competitive and fun they were. You feel like you are racing and competing on the water against others at the comfort of your home. There is even a basic training class to teach you the proper rowing techniques to avoid injuries and make you benefit from the workout more. After a couple of weeks trial, I can comfortably say I have improved my health, my strength, and the way I look and feel with this machine. Excellent quality product. The seat glides smoothly and no squeaking noises thus far. There is a spot up top to hold your tablet or phone and easily adjust to the tablet width and length. I used a tablet to have a bigger screen for easier visibility. There are a variety of workout durations anywhere from 10 minutes to 30 minutes and vary in difficulty while adjusting the resistance knob. Be aware though that once membership goes away, I do not believe there's a way to keep up through bluetooth with your stats and the rower machine becomes just a simple machine for exercise with no frills at your own pace and music. The rower itself is also very easy to lift and move and also to store in a corner if not used. It doesn't take much space like other exercise machines.
The Echelon Sport Exercise Rower is awesome. It only took about 15 minutes to assemble, the directions are very easy to follow. I was able to connect to the app with ease. Account was easy to set up. I have a 90 day free trial for the app, Im really liking the scenic mode on the app. I like that when I'm done with my workout I can fold it up, so it does not take up a lot of space when you are not using it. I was concerned about the seat being too hard but it was not, once I started it was very comfortable. I recommend wearing shoes when using, I tried in sock feet and my feet kept slipping out once I put on my shoes no problems. It glides very smoothly, I like that I can choose my resistance. Starting out slow for now 10 minutes a few times a day. You can feel all your muscles working when you use this machine. I was a bit sore so that means it is working. I like that it sits low to the ground. It is very easy to use and the app makes it fun to workout. This is a high quality fitness machine, very sturdy. I am very impressed, and would highly recommend.
The machine took about 40 minutes to put together properly. It was fairly easy. I did it by myself. When I was ready to hook it up via the app is where it became slightly difficult. I wanted an easy way to set it up so I was looking for QR codes but the one on the box only took me to an ad like video. I downloaded the Exhelon Fit app. You have to make a profile through the website, it cannot be done from the app itself. So I did that. The machine can be used alone but the app and brand so have subscriptions to use with the machine. The box said I get a free trial so I tried signing up for the cheapest sub. It was $11.99 BUT it doesn’t include workouts for any of the machines. so the cheapest I found with machine use included was $35. It let me get a 90 day free trial with that option, so I signed up. (You have to cancel before 90 days is up to avoid getting charged for the next month.) Now from my opinion the app is VERY MESSY at first!! I added my machine (Exhelon Row Sports) to the app At night the app seemed empty almost as if I did something wrong so I ended up deleting the app and reinstalling also uninstalling my added machine. When I tried to reinstall my machine it wasn’t listed anymore BUT the machine was being picked up as if I had added the RowS but still wasn’t listed under my machine. I kept reinstalling uninstalling to try and get the machine to pick up via Bluetooth (you cant do it from the Bluetooth page on your phone, it says it can only be done via the app.) I finally just decided to give up and try and freestyle workout (you go click Options in the corner: MORE… EVEN MORE then click FREEDTYLE RIDE and then my machine appeared wanting to connect via Bluetooth! (it wasn’t before even though I added all permissions!) I was able to use a class and follow along with the class! After getting the machine added it was actually really fun. I did some classes and also tried some live classes. They called out my name, lol. They push you and encourage you and praise you. They teach you how to row with correct form. I like the machine itself. I’d even recommend buying the subscription and at least try the free trial to get the whole experience. Hopefully they make the app more user friendly and work out bugs. It’s slightly heavy but it has wheels to help move it. I like the overall design. It can fold upright so it’s not in the middle of the floor. It had a stand to hold you phone or tablet/iPad, I can be adjusted for either. Overall I enjoy this machine a lot!
Easy to put together! I put together myself then took apart the long rail and moved upstairs. It folds up to create space. Perfect fit in my workout room. Can't say much about the resistance except that it works. I don't need much right now so it's perfect for me.
The assembly was pretty simple, came with assembly instructions and took maybe 45 minutes. It is very easy to store, by folding it up (removing the bolt and screw to insert on the back when it’s folded to keep it from falling down. It may sound difficult but it’s very easy). Then once you use it, just roll it out, remove the screw and bolt, fold it back down, and insert the screw and bolt in the correct spots then get to rowing. Now, all of this is much easier than connecting it and using it with the Echelon Fit app. First off, I do very much appreciate the free trial for the app that is offered with new equipment. However, it took me way too long to figure out how to connect this rower via Bluetooth to the app. Once reading over the material that came with the rower, the FAQ sections on the app and googling questions online, I decided to stop trying to figure it out via the app on my phone, and instead downloaded the app and signed in on my iPad. This was so much easier to figure out and I’ve finally been able to use the workouts available on the app as they are meant to be used. The Bluetooth button on the rower will stay blue once it’s connected. The resistance levels are already set in the workouts, which is so great! (Because that’s a confusing part for me!) I would recommend using a tablet for the app but the phone is possible too, I just couldn’t figure out how to connect. Apparently the rower doesn’t work well without the app bc you are unable to change resistance levels, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still use it. There’s still resistance. Regardless, the app and this rower go hand in hand, so if you invest in the one, count on investing in the other. Do I think it’s a good product? Absolutely! So far, absolutely yes it is. These are amazing workouts, the machine has been very reliable for me, and it’s so easy to fold up and down to keep it from being out when not in use. I’m very happy with this Echelon Rower and I’m also very happy with the workouts offered on the app. As happy as I am with the Rower and the app, I do feel that the company should make it more easy to understand that getting the rower also comes with a monthly price for the app. I do not think it’s that obvious for everyone, so for that, I took off a star. Still good though.
The Echelon Row Sport is a great addition to any at home gym. The rower comes in a few easy to handle pieces and took only about 30 minutes to put together with no help. All of the tools needed are included with the machine, but I found much easier to use my own. Once assembled you just need to plug it in, download the Echelon app and sync the two together. You can also sync a fitbit or apple watch to the app itself for workout tracking. The app comes with a 90 day free trial which includes numerous different guided work outs. The app also ability to do free style work outs which I prefer. One thing to keep in mind though is without an active membership there isn’t much you can do with the app other than logging a freestyle workout. It wouldn’t even let me watch a video on assembling the rower. Syncing the app and machine are quick and easy, no problems at all there. The build quality of the machine is fine, but not close to that of something you find at the gym or even higher quality at home brands like NordicTrack or Peleton. My biggest concern on quality is with the foot pedals. There is just a velcro strap holding your foot in place and with constant ware on that one point I question just how long they will last. The power cord is thin and relatively short so I had to run an extension cord to my nearest outlet. The seat slides very smoothly as well as the rower cable and has an easy to turn knob to adjust the resistance. There is nothing on the machine itself that can tell you what the resistance is at, it would be found in the app while using. Also, the resistance has nothing to do with it being plugged into power as this can be easily used just as is with no power cable attached which is nice. The rower can also be folded up for easy storage or just to take up a small footprint when not using. Its easy and quick to fold/unfold when needed. My biggest issue with the Rower is the fact it has no display at all. There is a spot to hold my phone or tablet, but sometimes I don’t have enough battery to keep it going throughout the duration of my workout. I find its much easier to just track my progress via my apple watch and not worry about the rower even being plugged in. I think this is a nice addition to a home gym, but for the price and lack of screen I wouldn’t want it to be my only machine.
I am a complete newbie to this kind of machine but it is very easy to use. Putting it together was definitely more than I could do alone but the instructions were easy to follow and they included pictures. I found the resistance to work without an active membership which I’m thankful for because the set up of the account was difficult and the app is not that great and has very limited rowing instructions. You can very easily find other videos for workouts. Feels very sturdy and well made and really does give you a nice workout.
I’m lucky I paid $297 because of I spent the full amount to get this machine I’d be raising heck with echelon. Pros - Easy to put together out of the box and takes up very little room in my home gym. Cons - Very disappointed in the lack of resistance. Also there are no workouts available unless you sign up for the subscription. I’m very disappointed overall. I guess I’m just going to have to be stuck with it’s too much of a headache to ship back. Don’t pay full price, not worth it.
The rowing machine fits well my space, and is capable of folding for storage. Assembly of the machine was simple and took about a half an hour. The machine is able to work without power and without use of the app but there is no screen for how far you have rowed or power output when used that way. Using the app can provide you with those stats and you can interact live or recorded rowing classes. My big concern with this machine is that the resistance even on the hardest level seems unchallenging. The resistance level did not show up on the app for me but the other informative stats worked well in app.
