It gave me about 30 minutes of charge, which is pretty impressive. It does a great job of sucking up all the dog hairs on the sofas. I love it on our tile and vinyl floors. I can add the attachment and use it to vacuum my car. It was very effortless. It takes up minimal space and easy to store. Great vacuum!

This vacuum is lightweight, easy to assemble/take it apart and very powerful. I love the fact that it's cordless and can be used across all floor types and even in the car. Another great feature is that it captures allergens and expels cleaner air, which is a big plus for those who suffer from allergies like myself. I was surprised by how much dust it picked up off my living room rug after I had vacuumed it with my old, chunky vacuum. I'd definitely recommend this product.

Owning two dogs and a cat, vacuums are something we tend to purchase and use frequently. We had been getting tired of using heavy vacuums all the time and dragging them around the house. We decided to look into this supposed lightweight, cord-free option. The Dyson V8 Motörhead Origin was broke into just a few pieces when opening the box. It was very easy to assemble even without the provided instructions. This unit came with the main vacuum roller as well as an attachment to reach crevices. There is a provided wall mount with two screws and two concrete anchors where you can choose to mount your device and just simply return it to the base to charge it. We took full advantage of this and placed it on the mount in our living room closet. Out of sight, out of mind, until we need it! The instructions state this vacuum takes around 5 hours to fully charge. It took mine around 5 hours and 15 minutes so I would say this is pretty accurate. It has two settings: max suction and powerful suction. The powerful suction lasts for 40 minutes and max suction (which gives you a more powerful suction) drains the battery within 7 minutes. So far, I haven't had to use the max suction option. The powerful suction option has been sufficient to vacuum up all the pet hair I want as well as my toddlers' food crumbs. The container that stores all of your vacuum remnants has max fill line that indicates when you are supposed to “dump the trash.” This vacuum also has two separate filters which you can clean once a month with cold water. All in all, I am very pleased with this vacuum. Naturally, I would love for the battery to last longer but I know there is only so much you can do with technology limitations. For a vacuum to be this light and still suction the way it does: it works great for me!
You know youre an adult when you get super excited for a vacuum! Ive always wanted a Dyson but couldnt justify the price. Getting this one refurbished, on sale, and using some random gift cards, it was the perfect time. I read a lot of reviews mentioning the short time that its on max suction (like it only lasts 7-8 minutes), but you really dont need that unless you have something more difficult to pick up. Make sure you change it to regular right out of the box. The vacuum works so well! I got added accessories from Amazon and it fits perfectly on the wall going into the basement.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Dyson V8 Motorhead Origin Vacuum is lightweight and powerful! I was very impressed at the suction of this vacuum. It was easy to put together and comes with three main parts to assemble. Each part clicks easily together and with a push of a button can be taken apart. It only takes a short amount of time to charge the vacuum completely. There are two modes of power, max mode and powerful. I prefer to use the vacuum in the powerful mode, as the charge will last longer, and I am able to finish my entire house. If I need to use max mode the charge only lasts about 7 to 10 minutes, but is very powerful. There are two different attachments that I can use. A brush to use for upholstery or smaller areas or the longer Motorhead attachment to use on carpet or hard flooring. The head swivels which makes it easy to move in all different directions while I am cleaning. I really like that this system is bag-less and with a pull of a button, I can empty the debris from the bin without ever getting my hands dirty. The filters are washable and it is recommended that this is done monthly. I also like that this system is cordless and can easily be transported from room to room and even up my stairs. This system comes with a mounting dock that was easy to install. I like how all of the parts clip into their places and the system can charge while it is being stored. It is always ready to use this way. Overall, I really like the Dyson V8 Motorhead Origin Vacuum Cleaner and how well it cleans. It is so lightweight and easy to carry up and down my stairs.

It's a nice weight, and it has powerful suction to easily clean my carpeting and area rugs with virtually no effort. Not having a cord in the way makes it so much easier to clean with. I'm very fond of being able to convert it into a handheld vacuum, this way I can reach my ceiling fans and anything up high with ease. I cleaned my car out with it, and it did an amazing job! It's so easy to put together, take apart, and clean. You don't even have to touch the canister while emptying it. The charge lasts pretty long, depending on how long you're using it, and at what power level you have it on. It feels comfortable, as well as cleans effectively, and efficiently! I love my new Dyson!
Just got a refurb V8 Animal and on first use it is great. Light weight easy peasy. Getting the trap door opened to empty the dirt was a bit tricky before looking at the pictures in the booklet so take a look first. used on regular setting for 30 minutes and still plenty of battery life left. picks up same or more as heavy conventional with cord and that is so much more effort. So far I am very happy - next time I will try the stronger setting
I bought as a Christmas gift to myself, I have 2 dogs and I was looking for something, cordless, lightweight to deal with daily cleaning. Works great. ( the only issue 5 hours charge for up 40 min works).
I'm sure the Dyson V8 Animal is a superior product. It just looked a little small for what I needed. There was not one in store to look at, so I'm returning it to Walmart. Looking for a larger cordless vacuum. Thank you. Removed little from the box, then repacked to return..,
Product arrived open and missing pieces. Very difficult in return of product. Had to bring to store to return and still had to wait 10 days to get my money back.
