This fan was the easiest to assemble of any I've had in the past. It only took 5 minutes to have it unpacked and working. The fan cools a 20 by 20 room in just 3 minutes and that's on low. When you get up to high speed, it cools the whole top floor of the house. The others I've owned had the cord installed in such a way that it wrapped itself around if I wasn't careful and this one is hanging free so it can't tangle. I love it.
I LOVE THIS FAN. I ACTUALLY BOUGHT TWO AND MY PARENTS ARE GOING TO BY SOME OF THEIR OWN AFTER SEEING MINE. I HAVE NOTHING NEGATIVE TO SAY ABOUT THESE FANS. I WAS A LITTLE WORRIED WHEN I FIRST ORDERED THEM. I HAD WONDERED HOW CHEAP AND HOW WELL THEY WOULD HOLD UP BUT THEY ARE SOOO MUCH NICER AND WELL MADE THAN I THOUGHT MAY BE. THEY HAVE 3 SETTINGS AND CAN BE ADJUSTED IN HEIGHT. THEIR GREAT.
I will give this fan five stars because of the value, operational functionality, and styling. I needed a fan to move more air than the ordinary 16", three bladed version. The extra 2" blade diameter and the five fan blades definitely do the trick. Most people complain the fan is noisy especially when in the "high" position. Like most things, it's a trade off between higher air flow and less fan noise. Any five bladed fan will be louder than a three or four bladed because of the extra paddle/s cutting through the air. So take your choice, less air flow with less noise or more air flow with more noise. It all depends on your application. It's actually not too loud on the low setting. The large diameter base provides for good stability. I recommend this fan especially where maximum air flow is of importance.
I purchased this fan for dual use. I use it inside to reduce AC expense and outside on my patio. It was super easy to put together and I had it done in less than 10 minutes. (I'm a 69yr old female so I need EASY) So far, I have placed it to move cool air from one room to another and use the medium speed. I do not hear it when I am in the other rooms however it does a great job of moving the air. Within my family room I use the low setting and it does not drown out my music or TV. Outside, I usually use med speed but have used Hi at times. Air movement is great but on high it is more difficult to talk over it. I am very pleased with this product for the purpose I chose it for.
This is a pedestal Cyclone fan with controls on top of motor - very easy access. I looked over the previous reviews & decided to give it a try. WOW!, the power this thing has just on low. & I got at a great price. Bought this 6/14 & put together very quickly. Though pole would easily come out of base - nope - I've picked it up & moved it several times & pole stays in. Has plastic fan frame - but who cares! It works great!!!!! - I ran this from about 2pm 6/14/2010 until about 8am 6/15/2010 - the top of the motor was a little bit warm. And runs great today 6/15. - Definitely worth purchasing & giving it a try. In comparison - I have a 16" with metal fan frame with 3 speeds & remote, have had for 2 years - but does nothing like this 18" Cycklone dones. The old one has to be on high to even get close to the Cyclones low. (but not close enough)
This product was exactly what I needed; however,it required the assistance of duct tape, to reinforce the extension pole at the mid section while fully extended. Seems like the plastic parts at the extension point are not strong enough for top fan head. Otherwise, fan works perfectly!
After researching stand fans, it would seem they fall into two categories - home/personal and industrial/commercial. Looking for a large stand fan that can be run on a low speed to QUIETLY move air, I decided to try this one. Considering the price, this is a good fan, but not great. To get "great" you need to move into the industrial/commercial fans which are much more expensive, but also better/stronger built. The fan is quieter than most, but not as quiet as a ceiling fan just because of the speed at which it runs. The stand is again good, but not great. But all relative to the low price, this is a good fan.
i bought this fan and it works very good .
The price is on par with the quality of this fan. It was easy to assemble and wprks great in the general sense that it moves air at three speeds and oscillates as it claims to. It is, however, quite loud. We purchased three of these for the bedrooms to keep us cool in the Phoenix summers while we sleep. The loudness takes some getting used to, but eventually becomes background white noise.
This is the second Lasko pedestal fan I've had to return because the pieces don't fit together or won't screw on to hold the blade. Since both fans were different models, but, both Lasko, the fault has to lie with the brand. My suggestion: stay away from Lasko pedestal fans!
