Great Workout & Quiet!

As stated in some of the other reviews, this is a very quiet machine, and the settings are great! You just sit on it and peddle, and work off the calories! I have a small apartment, so I have to move it every night, to watch the news or a movie while using it, but that's a small price to pay for the great workout I get! Marcy, that's what I call it, because of it's brand name, tells you everything you want to know when working out on the machine. Time, Distance, Calories, Speed & the time spent on the maching from it's first use, or the Odometer reading. I'm living in Florida, and it's Rainy Season! This is great when I can't get on my bicycle, or walk in the park where I work. I can be on the phone, or watching Tv, reading a book, whatever! She's Quiet & gives you a wonderful workout!

This product was relatively easy to assemble even using the tools that came in the box. However, to tighten larger screws using my own tools was more effective. The bike is stable even for a person with its upper weight capacity limit. A very economical product for very heavy person who wants to get a cardio workout without pounding your joints and in the privacy (and air conditioning) of your home.

I bought this exercise bike for my best girl for Christmas, a dangerous gift for sure but it is what she wanted. She had wanted an air resistance bike in the traditional format, but they were obnoxiously loud, and uncomfortable. After trying several different bikes I settled on the recumbent bike. I chose the Marcy based on price, the reviews here, and it looks like you can't hang much clothing on it. Fortunately, she is thrilled with it. I think she would have like a model with a heart monitor on it, but this is a no frills unit. I put it together in about 35 minutes, though I can see why some less mechanically adept people might take longer. It does have quite a few pieces, but the instructions are pretty clear and simple. After assembly I took it for it ride. I was surprised how well the magnetic resistence works. It was like pedaling a real bike on level ground, increase the resistance you feel like you're pedaling up a slight incline. The operation is smooth, the seating position comfortable, and the unit feels sturdy. I am a BIG man so if it feels sturdy for me, it will feel sturdy for you I'm sure. The only problem I have had with this bike is the seat adjustment. In order to move the seat forward for my wife, or all the way back for me, I am forced to lift the rear of the bike and then slide the seat adjustment into postion. Not a huge problem for me, but it is a problem for her. I just remember to put it back to her spot after I use it. It's not a big issue for me at all, but I can see where it might be for people with back problems or strength issues. I am happy with the Marcy, and very happy with the price. I would definitely recommend this product, though with a caveat about the seat operation.

Best recumbent bike for <$200

I am a serious bargain shopper and read everything before making purchases over $100. I bought this bike because I figured that if I used it for 4 months, it would pay for itself, as I mainly use the recumbent bike at the gym. I have done my first two workouts on the bike, each 45 minutes, and am extremely satisfied with my purchase. Having read ALL of the reviews, let me comment on the main complaints: 1) Assembly: It's no worse than putting together a piece of IKEA furniture. If you don't like following directions, you'll be in trouble. But, if you read the directions, follow them well, and use COMMON SENSE, you will be fine. I highly recommend asking a friend to help for three reasons. A) It's always easier if someone is reading and the other is doing, B) There are lots of screws to tighten, and C) Getting the tension wire right is best done with two people. A hint: If you move the tension knob to 1 before trying to hook it into place, it's much easier. Bringing in a few of your own tools - namely a wrench, really helps. As others have mentioned, you need a phillip's head and the box doesn't come with one. You do NOT need any tools that wouldn't be found in the average 20-year-old female's toolkit - i.e. the total basics. 2) Moving the seat: I guess this would be a pain if you were doing it often. But, you can hear it click into place, and even though you can't see the hole, you can figure it out by looking at where the seat stops above the hole in front of it. Not exactly a deal breaker. 3) The tension: I am not overweight. I am pretty in shape. And, I was seriously sweating by moving it to the 4th level of tension. I don't think I'll ever work my way up to 8 - it's like biking up an extremely steep hill while lugging a child's cart behind you. In other words, if you are looking to lose some weight or maintain a reasonably fit body, this will work fine. I'm guessing if you are a serious athlete, you are probably not looking at a $200 recumbent bike. Also, if you "don't feel a difference between 1 and 8," you are either insane, or, and this is highly more likely, you didn't hook the tension wire up correctly. 4) The computer: Not the greatest - but - the complaints on here seem unwarranted. It times you, it gives you a pretty accurate account of speed and distance, mine "pauses" if I stop for longer than about 10 seconds and doesn't turn off for a few minutes - great for when the phone rings or the dog needs to go out in the middle of a workout. I think the calorie read-out is telling me I am burning more than I am but that doesn't really bother me, as you can go to any website and see what a half hour of cycling generally burns. And hey - if I really am burning that amount of calories, then I am going to be in great shape. :) 5) The seat: Super comfortable. I would venture more comfortable than the one at the gym. My bottom started going slightly numb about 40 minutes in, but nowhere near as badly as upright bikes. I do wish that you could readjust the backrest, as I would like to be able to lean forward slightly more, but I guess if it really bugs me, I can put a towel or pillow there. 6) Wobbly/Shakiness: Hint: Put a rug under it if you have it on a non-carpeted floor - especially on the front where there are wheels. Also, there is a knob that twists down to meet the floor on the bottom - if you don't twist it down to meet the floor, it will not be stablized. Use a few of your own tools (a wrench is helpful) to get things really tight. Mine still shakes a little, but it makes no noise, so I'm not going to complain too much. I do wish it was slightly more stable - which is why I gave it a 4, but maybe I just need a stronger person to come over and tighten the bolts one more time. 7) Shipping - I used site to store. It arrived 2 weeks earlier than promised. All the materials were inside - and again, if you have common sense, it's not that difficult to put together. Good luck - If anything changes, I will re-review, but I am extremely happy with this purchase.

This product is exactly as I expected from all the reviews I read. Not only was it easy to put together (30 min.) but it is very durable and very solid. My first workout was a 20 min workout for 4.3 miles and the sweat was dripping of my chin. I loved it. And its so easy to make the peddling go easy or harder. Watching TV or listening to the radio is easy since this machine is soooo quiet. I recommend starting off easy. I have bad knees and a real bad lower back, so this is the perfect excercise machine for me. I highly recommend this, especially for middle aged women like myself.

Everything was as advertised. It is a good, sturdy bike, quiet and pretty easy to assemble. It takes about 30 - 45 minutes. It's also easy for women to move it around to different rooms. Changing the seat adjustment might take a little getting used to finding the holes, but after that, no problem. The only thing I would change is making the pedals longer.

This bike was very easy to put together. The box that it came in was smaller then I thought it would be so it was very easy to pick up. The only thing that would make this bike better is if it had the option to take your pulse.. and a fan.

I got this bike about 3 weeks ago. I love it! I ride it for about 30 mins a day,6 days a week. Its much more comfortable then the traditional bike, so doing 30 mins its quite easy. My only complaint about this bike is the adjustable seat. My husband cannot ride it he's to tall (he is 6'2"), myself I set it at the 3rd bar and I am to tall but if I push it back anymore then my feet are to far. I think this bike would of been better with adjusted handlebars as well. It was a breeze to put together, my husband had it together in 20 mins. Its quiet, no cords. I love it best bike I could of bought for that little money :)

I find the bike is much more difficult to pedel than those I have used in fitness center. I have always been able to work out for at least 45 minutes, working in to several inclines. This one, even at the number 1 setting, I can only peddel for 5 to 7 minutes before my legs give out. I was missing several screws, there were no toolsin the carton. I have since contacted the company and am still waiting.

The first one I order was damage. Call the company they stated that they would ship a replacement part, I should receive it in 5 bisiness days. Called back in 2 weeks they stated it was on back order should be coming in 2 - 3 weeks. It's been longer than that still waiting. It did come back on the site but it was $30 more. I did order another one It also, guess what the same part was damage. It seems hat pack the handle-bar next to the main fame, thats what hits the main-fame and damage it.
