Very functional, sturdy and easy to use bench and dumbells. A super value.

Love how it is compact. Love how its organized. The weights do stick when trying to adjust them however I had read that this does happen and that it should improve with time. This didn't stop me from purchasing this product. All in All .... I really like it.

Weider Weight Set

Just received the Weider bench and weight set a couple of days ago. The boxes were pretty banged up but no damage to the product. It recommends two to assemble but I did just fine on my own. It took me about 45 minutes. I used it for the first time yesterday and have a couple of criticisms. First, it's not always easy to slide the pin mechanisim to change the amount of weight used. For some reason it sticks and won't move without some coaxing. The other criticism is when you're finished, the weights don't always easily slip back on to their stand. You have to do it just right and giggle them a little to have them seat correctly in the stand. Overall I feel it it was a very good value for the money and I'd recommend to others.

I do not own this product let me just say that but i have used it. How you adjust the weights is a little hard but you get used to them after a while. Its pretty smooth takin the weight off of the stand but setting them down you have to push a little. No big deal. The price is a little high though.

Not what you see on photo

Starting with the dumbells, at the beginning it was a nightmare to get them out of the stand and put them back without putting a lot of pressure. To help them to break-in you need to put some grease inside the disks as well as the plastic separators. The bench I received is not Weider like illustrated. The bench is not a good quality because it moves to the sides and you need to use your legs to stabilize it. For the price is not a bad equipment since is not bulky. Combined this set with other weigths and equipment and you may have good results.

Very Useful Product

It came in four separate boxes, so I was thinking this was gonna take forever. However, as it turned out, the product is well-designed and goes together easily. The bench is sturdy and adjusts easily; it's also fairly compact, which makes it easy to place (convenient for my small apartment). The dial-type adjuster used on similar weights is easier than the pin-type this one uses, but not worth the extra cost, IMO; the pin-type moves easily enough in most cases. It's a good thing the pedestal was made strong as well since it sometimes requires a fair amount of force to replace the weights (actually I usually let the weights fall into place--it's easier). Considering this product comes with two 10-50lb adjustable weights, a stand for holding the weights, a two-way (seat and back) adjustable bench, and workout guide (not to mention the extra boxes and styrofoam [G]) for less cost than some adjustable weights on their own, it's definitely a good deal.

Well built, but could use some help

This is a pretty well built weight set & bench. The bench has adequate padding & adjustments to handle a decent workout. The dumbbells are very nice, but have a couple flaws that could be improved upon. If you work with some lighter weights where you only have 1 or 2 plates on at a time, it's difficult to get the dumbbell back in the holder stand. The plates that stay in the holder tend to lean & touch together making it difficult to return the dumbbell to its storage position. I've had to actually set one dumbbell down so I could use that hand to spread the plates out slightly in order to get the dumbbell I was holding back in place. Either the guides on the dumbbell body that separate the plates could use some re-engineering, or the base that holds the plates needs to hold them so they can't touch together. If you work with 30lbs or more, this really doesn't become an issue. Even with this shortcoming, I still recommend this package for the price.

This product needs a significant redesign. The dumbbells are almost impossible to get back on the stand when removed. One dumbbell was broken right out of the box, and literally within 5 minutes of trying to get the weights on the remaining dumbbell the plastic tabs started breaking. However, the bench is very nice. It went together fairly easily and in my opinion is worth the money. So if you're considering this product, buy the bench, but by all means avoid the weights. If I could have returned the weights alone I would have, but since it was all together I had to return it all.

Disappointment

I wanted to see this item to test in out in the store...but this was Online only. I couldn't find these in any sporting goods store...so i took a chance and ordered them anyway knowing i could return if i did not like. I have been looking for a set of adjustable dumbbells for a while now...These seemed like a good price for what they offered. They are cheaper than the Bowflex 552 adjustable dumbbells. However, they are far below in quality. It is extremely hard to get the dumbbells in and out of the rack. It is almost impossible and therefore useless. They get stuck almost every time and have a hard time selecting the proper weights. I have returned these to Walmart and since bought the Bowflex 552 adjustable dumbbells. I love them and they are far superior. If you are going to buy this item, please try them in a store to see if you like them. I would not recommend these to anyonce since they are so hard to use. The point of these is to have a quick and easy way to switch to different weights. They look great but the function was an extreme disappointment.
