When nuked with proper times, this breakfast is great! Remove egg, cheese & sausage, microwave 45 seconds. Add back to the croissant, wrap in paper towel, microwave 40 seconds. Perfect!
I recommend taking the time to flip it over during defrost and cooking time then WAIT....it is worth the wait.....I wrap mine in paper towel as soon as it exits the microwave so the water vapor does not make it soggy...I used to buy the more expensive named brand but I really can not tell the difference. These are a little Higher in Sodium and a little less Saturated fat. I have to admit I buy which ever is cheaper/on sale!
For a quick meal, or to keep @ work like I do, these things are AMAZING! Everyone in my office is raving about them! Wish I could order them online and have them shipped, but I will be going back to the store to buy more!
I liked these, but the 1st time I made one, the middle was still cold. I've had things like these b4, so I did what I remember that I wrapped the sausage & cheese in a wet paper towel & microwaved it for 15 seconds first, then I microwaved the whole thing in a dry paper towel for 35 seconds. Much better, egg/sausage aren't dried out and all is cooked perfectly! Add some salt & pepper to the egg and it tastes just like those fast food places!
Love these! They are a great frozen option for a quick hot breakfast. I keep some in the freezer at work. Granted they aren't as good as fresh but I think they are great for frozen.
I bought these because they were cheap. It seems you get what yoy pay for - the meat is not good. I don't know if it's because there is too much pepper or what, but I'm not getting this again.
At one point, this was one of my family's favorite breakfast meals. However, over the past few months, I've noticed that the quality of the sausage has greatly deteriorated. The sausage is now filled with lots of gristle, making much of the crossiant inedible. If the sausage supplier or its processing methods have changed, Walmart should consider another supplier.
I was please to find that Walmart carried a variety of heat and serve meal size breakfast sandwiches. I was a regular buyer of the Jimmy Dean Breakfast sandwiches, so I thought I would try the Croissant w/ sausage and egg. Although the croissant itself was good, the egg, cheese, and sausage used on this sandwich were terrible. The egg was rubbery, the cheese is too sharp and the sausage was too peppery and had little hard pieces in it. Not all of the breakfast sandwiches are bad. I really enjoy the english muffin with egg, cheese and canadian bacon that Great value sells. In conclusion, pay the extra money to buy the Jimmy Dean Croissant w/ sausage, egg and cheese. Forget the Great Value Brand on this one.
